West Side Trail
The West Side Trail is a multi-use trail in Yarmouth, Maine. A Town of Yarmouth project conceived in 1988 and opened in 2014, the trailhead for the eastern portion of the trail is in the parking lot of Tyler Technologies, on Tyler Drive, on the eastern side of U.S. Route 1, immediately before the exit 15 northbound on-ramp to Interstate 295 (I-295). The trailhead for the western section is in the park and ride lot at the southbound exit 15 ramp for I-295, to the west of Route 1. Phase one 500 volunteer hours were put into the project, headed by Dan Ostrye of Yarmouth's town trail committee. In 2010, Ostrye signed a lease agreement for the town with Central Maine Power so that the trail could be run through woods and meadows on Cousins Island and over the causeway to woods on CMP property on the mainland. Yarmouth, Maine
Yarmouth is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States, twelve miles north of the state's largest city, Portland. When originally settled in 1636, as North Yarmouth, it was part of Massachusetts, and remained as such for 213 years. Princes Point Road
Princes Point Road is a prominent street in Yarmouth, Maine, United States. It runs for about from Lafayette Street ( State Route 88) in the north to Sunset Point Road in the south. It was one of the first streets laid out in the town''Ancient North Yarmouth and Yarmouth, Maine 1636-1936: A History'', William Hutchinson Rowe (1937) when it was centered around the Meetinghouse under the Ledge in the 18th century. Gilman Road, another of the early roads in the area, intersects Princes Point Road near its northern end. Drinkwater Point Road
Drinkwater Point Road is a prominent street in Yarmouth, Maine, United States. One of the first streets laid out in what was then coastal North Yarmouth, Province of Massachusetts Bay (when it was centered around the nearby Meetinghouse under the Ledge), it runs for about from Gilman Road in the north to Seaborne Drive in the south. Drinkwater Point faces Cousins Island, to which it is connected by the Ellis C. Snodgrass Memorial Bridge, and overlooks inner Casco Bay. Drinkwater Point Road and Drinkwater Point are named for Captain Theophilus Drinkwater, son of Allen and Hannah Drinkwater. Cumberland is a town in Cumberland County, Maine. The population was 8,473 at the time of the 2020 census. It is part of the Portland metropolitan area, Maine. Cumberland is one of the wealthiest municipalities in the state. History Cumberland, Maine (also known as Cumberland Center), was once part of North Yarmouth, but in 1821, it was incorporated as its own town. North Yarmouth, officially the Town of North Yarmouth, is a town in Cumberland County, Maine. The population was 4,072 at the 2020 United States Census. Royal River Conservation Trust
The Royal River Conservation Trust (abbreviated RRCT) is a volunteer-run conservation group based in Yarmouth, Maine, United States. Established in 1988 and funded by its members, it owns many preserves and trail networks, and has assisted in the creation of town-owned parks and preserves, state parks and state wildlife-management areas. Gilman Road is a prominent street in Yarmouth, Maine, United States. It runs for about from Lafayette Street ( State Route 88) in the northwest to the Ellis C. A trailhead is the point at which a trail begins, where the trail is often intended for hiking, biking, horseback riding, or off-road vehicles. Cousins Island is an island in Casco Bay within the town of Yarmouth in Cumberland County, Maine, United States. It is listed as a census-designated place, with a population of 490 as of the 2010 census. The CDP is part of the Portland– South Portland–Biddeford, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area. The island is connected to mainland Yarmouth by the Ellis C. Snodgrass Memorial Bridge (colloquially known as the Cousins Island Bridge), built in 1955.
