Silverdale is a small town in New South Wales, Australia, in Wollondilly Shire. Approximately 30 minutes from the city of Camden, Silverdale is close to the historic township of Warragamba, and the main water supply for Sydney, Warragamba Dam. The town's development increased with the construction of the dam. Silverdale is remarkably isolated from the increasing urbanisation of the Penrith City area, although the new housing estates are an example of increasing development in the area. Education The local primary school is Warragamba Public School and Holy Family Primary school in Luddenham. Greendale, New South Wales
Greendale is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. History Greendale was originally home to the Mulgoa tribe of the Darug people. The first British explorer to visit the area was botanist George Caley in 1800. A number of land grants were made in the area in 1811, one of which was to a Mary Birch who named her property ''Greendale''. Another 1811 grant was made to Ellis Bent who was the colony's judge-advocate. Bents Basin, a recreational area on the Nepean River at Greendale is named after him. The land was mainly used for wheat farming until 1861 when wheat rust infected the entire crop. The local farmers tried other crops unsuccessfully and gradually moved to other pastoral areas, effectively killing off the town that had grown up in the area. Wollondilly Shire is a periurban local government area adjacent to the south-western fringe of Sydney, parts of which fall into the Macarthur, Blue Mountains and Central Tablelands regions in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Wollondilly Shire was created by proclamation in the NSW Government Gazette on 7 March 1906, following the passing of the Local Government (Shires) Act 1905, and amalgamated with the Municipality of Picton on 1 May 1940. Wollondilly Shire is named after the Wollondilly River. The area is traversed by the Hume Highway and the Southern Highlands railway line. Wollondilly Shire contains several small towns and villages broken up by farms and sandstone gorges. To its west is wilderness and includes the Nattai Wilderness and the Burragorang Valley. Wollondilly is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It is represented by Nathaniel Smith of the Liberal Party. History Wollondilly was first established in 1904, partly replacing Bowral. In 1920, with the introduction of proportional representation, it absorbed Wollongong and Allowrie and elected three members simultaneously. In 1927, it was split into the single-member electorates of Wollondilly, Wollongong and Illawarra. It was abolished in 1981, but was recreated for the 2007 election, partly replacing Southern Highlands. Wollondilly is one of four electorates in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly to have been held by two Premiers of New South Wales while in office. Cobbitty is a rural town of the Macarthur Region near the town of Camden, southwest of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The area is mostly farmland with a population of around 2000. Overview The area is mostly farmland and agricultural. At the southern end of the suburb, bordering the Nepean River is Camden Airport, a site for gliding and skydiving. The main road, Cobbitty Road, is home to "Cobbitty Primary School", a general store, a small cafe, and "Teen Ranch". Teen Ranch is a Christian organisation that runs school and holiday programs for teens. Cobbitty is home to a New South Wales Rural Fire Service brigade. The Brigade has two trucks and is often called upon for incidents both within and outside of the district. Blue Mountains National Park
The Blue Mountains National Park is a protected national park that is located in the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The national park is situated approximately west of Sydney, and the park boundary is quite irregular as it is broken up by roads, urban areas and inholdings. Despite the name mountains, the area is an uplifted plateau, dissected by a number of larger rivers. The highest point in the park is Mount Werong at above sea level; while the low point is on the Nepean River at above sea level as it leaves the park.
