Werner Bärtschi
Werner Bärtschi (born 1 January 1950) is a Swiss composer and classical pianist. Life Born in Zurich, Bärtschi studied piano with Sava Savoff, Jürg Wyttenbach and Rolf Mäser, composition with Armin Schibler, Klaus Huber and Rudolf Kelterborn and orchestral conducting with Erich Schmid at the Universities of Zurich and Basel. He was influenced by the music of John Cage and Dieter Schnebel. In 1980, Bärtschi founded the concert series Rezital Zürich. In 1987, he became artistic director of the Musikkollegium Zürcher Oberland. From 1990 to 1992, he was president of the music commission of the city of Zurich. He is also the initiator of cycles and festivals such as the Satie season (1980/81), the Ives cycle (1985/86) and the June Festival Week (1991). Bärtschi is active in the composers' secretariat in Zurich, which includes Ulrich Gasser, Max E. Keller, Martin Sigrist and . Wilhelm Killmayer
Wilhelm Killmayer (21 August 1927 – 20 August 2017) was a German composer of classical music, a conductor and an academic teacher of composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München from 1973 to 1992. He composed symphonies and song cycles on poems by Friedrich Hölderlin, Joseph von Eichendorff, Georg Trakl and Peter Härtling, among others. Early life Wilhelm Killmayer was born on 21 August 1927 in Munich, Germany. He studied conducting and composition from 1945 to 1951 in Munich at Hermann Wolfgang von Waltershausen’s Musikseminar. At the same time, he was enrolled at the Munich University where he studied musicology with Rudolf von Ficker and Walter Riezler, and German studies. Ingo Harden (born 26 February 1928) is a German music critic and writer. Life Born in Hamburg, Harden studied musicology with Heinrich Husmann and piano with Ilse Fromm-Michaels. From 1954 he worked first as an author and later as an editor for the then Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk. In 1964 he took over the editorial office of ' and headed the journal until 1976. The Basel Sinfonietta is a Swiss orchestra, based in Basel. History The Basel Sinfonietta was founded in 1980, as a self-governing ensemble, by a group of young musicians with a focus on contemporary classical music.
