Alfons Karl Zwicker (born 22 April 1952) is a Swiss composer, pianist and painter. Life Born in St. Gallen, Zwicker began as a painter and designer. He created several paintings, which were exhibited between 1973 and 1980. Jürg Wyttenbach
Jürg Wyttenbach (2 December 1935 – 22 December 2021) was a Swiss composer, pianist, and orchestra conductor. Life and career Wyttenbach studied at the University of the Arts Bern under Sándor Veress and subsequently at the Conservatoire de Paris alongside Yvonne Lefébure and Joseph Calvet. As a pianist, he performed with the Dresden Philharmonic, the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, and the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra. He also conducted the Ensemble Modern, the Klangforum Wien, the ensemble recherche, the International Society for Contemporary Music, and the Ensemble l'Itinéraire. He taught piano at the City of Basel Music Academy from 1967 to 2003. He died in Basel on 22 December 2021, at the age of 86. Else Lasker-Schüler (née Elisabeth Schüler) (; 11 February 1869 – 22 January 1945) was a German-Jewish poet and playwright famous for her bohemian lifestyle in Berlin and her poetry. She was one of the few women affiliated with the Expressionist movement. Lasker-Schüler fled Nazi Germany and lived out the rest of her life in Jerusalem. August Stramm (29 July 1874 – 1 September 1915) was a German war poet and playwright who is considered the first of the expressionists. Stramm's radically experimental verse and his major influence on all subsequent German poetry has caused him to be compared to Ezra Pound, Guillaume Apollinaire, James Joyce, and T.S. Eliot. Georg Trakl (3 February 1887 – 3 November 1914) was an Austrian poet and the brother of the pianist Grete Trakl. He is considered one of the most important Austrian Expressionists. Festspielhaus Hellerau (English: Hellerau Festival House or Hellerau Theatre) is a theatre/studio building/classroom building located in Hellerau, the famous garden city district of Dresden, Germany. Built in 1911, it was an important center for early modern theatre up until the rise of the Nazi party, World War II and afterward when the area became part of Communist-occupied East Germany. After the German reunification and the departure of the Red Army, efforts were begun to restore the building, then nearly in ruins, to its original grandeur. The theatre was reopened to the public in September 2006 and restoration is currently ongoing.
