Welsh Young Liberals
Welsh Young Liberals (Welsh: ''Rhyddfrydwr Ifanc Cymru'') is the successor to what was previously "Myfyrwyr a Ieuenctid y Democratiaid Rhyddfrydol Cymru – Liberal Democrat Youth and Students Wales” and constitutes the youth wing of the Welsh Liberal Democrats. Its membership is open to any member of the Liberal Democrats living, working or studying in Wales provided they are under 26 years of age and/or in full/part-time education above that age. The organisation has branches all over Wales, including affiliated branches at many Welsh universities. The Welsh Young Liberals campaign for the aims of the Welsh Liberal Democrats and has had members standing for election since the 2005 General Election and the 2007 Welsh Assembly Election. The organisation also supports and advocates youth engagement in local politics with many members both standing and being sitting councillors across Wales. Arfon (Assembly Constituency)
Arfon is a constituency of the Senedd. It was created for the former Assembly's 2007 election. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. Also, however, it is one of nine constituencies in the North Wales electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to nine constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole. Boundaries The constituency has the boundaries of the Arfon Westminster constituency, entirely within the preserved county of Gwynedd, which will come into use, also, for the 2010 United Kingdom general election. Ceredigion
Ceredigion ( , , ) is a county in the west of Wales, corresponding to the historic county of Cardiganshire. During the second half of the first millennium Ceredigion was a minor kingdom. 2021 Chesham And Amersham By-election
A by-election was held in the United Kingdom Parliament constituency of Chesham and Amersham on 17 June 2021, following the death of the sitting member, Dame Cheryl Gillan, on 4 April 2021. Gillan had served as MP for the constituency since 1992. The by-election was the third to the 58th Parliament, which was elected in 2019. The Liberal Democrat candidate, Sarah Green, won the by-election with 56.7% of the vote and a swing from the Conservatives of 25.2%. Sarah Green (politician)
Sarah Louise Green is a British businesswoman and Liberal Democrat politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Chesham and Amersham since 2021. Green is the first Liberal Democrat to represent the constituency, which had previously been Conservative since its creation in 1974. She is the area’s first non-Conservative representative since 1923. Early life and education Green grew up in Corwen, Clwyd in rural North Wales, where her family is from.
