Welsh Fire ( cy, Tân Cymreig) are a franchise 100-ball cricket side based in the city of Cardiff. The team represents the Historic counties of England, historic counties of Glamorgan, Gloucestershire and Somerset in the newly founded competition called The Hundred (cricket), The Hundred, which took place for the first time during the 2021 Cricket in the United Kingdom, English and Welsh cricket season. Both the men's and women's teams play their home games at Sophia Gardens (cricket ground), Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. History Welsh Fire was founded in June 2019 as one of eight teams to take part in the inaugural season of The Hundred. Josh Cobb
Joshua James Cobb (born 17 August 1990) is an English cricket player. He currently plays for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club. He is a top order batsmen and occasional off spin, off-spinner. He was man of the match in the 2011 Friends Life t20, 2011 and 2016 Twenty20 finals. Career Cobb scored a double century for the England Under 19s. He attended Oakham School as a child, where he was a key member of the first team, averaging over 50 with the bat in his final season. 100-ball Cricket
100-ball cricket is a short form of cricket designed to attract new audiences to the game with simplified rules, which was originally created by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for its new city-based competition The Hundred. The 100 ball game has two teams each having a single innings, which is restricted to a maximum of 100 balls, and the match lasts approximately two and a half hours, somewhat shorter than the existing Twenty20 format. Before the launch of the professional The Hundred competition in July 2021, the 100-ball format was trialled in several amateur local leagues across England. Royal Challengers Bangalore (often abbreviated as RCB) are a franchise cricket team based in Bangalore, Karnataka, that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Gloucestershire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Gloucestershire. Founded in 1870, Gloucestershire have always been first-class and have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. The club played its first senior match in 1870 and W. G. Glamorgan County Cricket Club ( cy, Criced Morgannwg) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Glamorgan ( cy, Morgannwg). Founded in 1888, Glamorgan held minor status at first and was a prominent member of the early Minor Counties Championship before the First World War.
