Weiert Velle
Weiert Martin Velle (18 May 1925 – 29 April 2007) was a Norwegian veterinarian. He was born in Lista. He took the dr.med.vet. degree in 1959, and also the dr.philos. in 1999. He was a professor of physiology at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science from 1965 to 1993, and served as rector there from 1975 to 1982. He co-edited the journal ''Acta Veterinaria Scandinavica'' from 1973 to 1987. He resided at Blommenholm Blommenholm is a district in the municipality of Bærum, Norway. Lista, Norway
Lista is a former municipality located in the old Vest-Agder county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1965. The administrative centre was the village of Vanse where Vanse Church is located. Lista municipality was historically known as the municipality of ''Vanse'' until 1911. The former municipality's land is now located in the present-day municipality of Farsund in Agder county. Farsund Airport, Lista is located here, but it has not had any regularly scheduled commercial flights since 1999; however, there are discussions to use it as a base for offshore operations. Lista is located on a large peninsula along the Listafjorden and is home to the villages of Vestbygd and Vanse and the town of Farsund. Physiology
Physiology (; ) is the scientific study of functions and mechanisms in a living system. As a sub-discipline of biology, physiology focuses on how organisms, organ systems, individual organs, cells, and biomolecules carry out the chemical and physical functions in a living system. Norwegian School Of Veterinary Science
Norwegian School of Veterinary Science ( no, Norges veterinærhøgskole) or NVH was a public university located at Adamstuen in Oslo, that educated veterinarians and veterinary nurses as well as research within aquatic medicine, food safety, comparative medicine and mammalian diseases, health and welfare. The institution had about 450 employees and 500 students. Parts of the research were conducted in Tromsø and Sandnes. On 6 January 2014 the school joined with the Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Ås, and by 2020 it will be completely relocated to the same location. Olav Sandvik
Olav Sandvik (2 November 1925 – 16 February 2010) was a Norwegian veterinarian and civil servant. He was born in Fana as a son of Johannes Ø. Sandvik. He finished his secondary education in 1945 and graduated from the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science in 1953. From 1951 to 1952 he served in the Norwegian field hospital in the Korean War. He was a research fellow at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science from 1953, and took the dr.med.vet. degree in 1963. He was an associate professor from 1958 and professor of microbiology and immunology from 1963, and served as prorector from 1969 and rector from 1972. He left the School of Veterinary Science in 1975. He was then managing director of the National Veterinary Institute from 1975 to 1983. He served as a director in the Ministry of Agriculture from 1983 to 1990, and advisor there from 1990 to 1994. Gustav Reidar Birkeland (19 November 1928 – 19 September 2018) was a Norwegian veterinarian. Life and career Gustav Reidar Birkeland was born in Sauda, and took the ''dr.med.vet.'' degree in 1955. He was a lecturer in surgery at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science from 1959 to 1984, and then professor from 1985 to 1994. He also served as dean there from 1983 to 1988.
