Watling Academy
Watling Academy is a coeducational secondary school located in the Whitehouse area of Milton Keynes, in the English county of Buckinghamshire. History Construction of the school began in 2019, in anticipation of the planned demand for secondary school places from the large new developments on the western side of the city; the £40 million project to construct the school is on a site. The school formally opened on a temporary site in September 2020, and occupation of the new buildings began in June 2021. A free school in England is a type of academy established since 2010 under the Government's free school policy initiative. From May 2015, usage of the term was formally extended to include new academies set up via a local authority competition. Like other academies, free schools are non-profit-making, state-funded schools which are free to attend but which are mostly independent of the local authority. Whitehouse is a district and civil parish that covers a large new development area on the western flank of Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England. As the first tier of Local Government, its community council is responsible for the people, living and working in this area of Milton Keynes. Denbigh School
Denbigh School is a Secondary school, secondary Academy (English school), academy school in Shenley Church End, Milton Keynes in south central England. History The original Denbigh School opened September 1964 where half of Walton High's students were part of the initial intake for the school, which was located on land at the northern end of Cornwall Grove in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, Bletchley. In the 1980s, the Local Education Authority resolved to relocate either Denbigh or (nearby) Lord Grey School (Formerly Wilton) to Shenley Church End, a few miles to the north. Eventually Denbigh was chosen to move. Shenley Church End
Shenley Church End is a village, district and wider civil parish in Milton Keynes England. Together with its neighbouring districts of Shenley Brook End, Shenley Wood and Shenley Lodge, the districts are collectively known as "The Shenleys". History The village name 'Shenley' is an Old English language word meaning 'bright clearing'. In the Domesday Book of 1086 the area was collectively known as ''Senelai''. The distinction between the Brook End and the Church End happened in the 12th century when a new manor house was constructed in Shenley Brook End by the Mansell family.
