Wanshousi station () is a station on Line 16 of the Beijing Subway. History Construction of this station started in March 2014. A pedestrian bridge going over the 3rd Ring Road was demolished to construct the station. The station opened in 2020. 3rd Ring Road (Beijing)
The 3rd Ring Road () is a -long city ring road that encircles the city center of Beijing. When Beijing first became the capital of the People's Republic of China, the road existed only in segments encircling the northern, eastern, and southern parts of the city. At the time, its segments were known as Beihuan (North Ring), Donghuan (East Ring), and Nanhuan (South Ring), respectively. The 3rd Ring Road was finally finished in 1994 with the completion of the western segment. There are 52 flyovers, including Sanyuanqiao, which links it to the Airport Expressway. The speed limit is a uniform 80 km/h. The ring road runs through the busy CBD section in the east through Panjiayuan and Fenzhongsi, linking up with the Jingjintang Expressway. Haidian District () is a district of the municipality of Beijing. It is mostly situated in northwestern Beijing, but also to a lesser extent in the west, where it has borders with Xicheng District and Fengtai District. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. Wanshou Temple
The Wanshou Temple () is a temple located at No.121, Wanshousi Road, Haidian District, Beijing. In addition to being a Buddhist temple, the Wanshou Temple also houses the Beijing Art Museum (北京艺术博物馆/北京藝術博物館). It was built in 1577 during the Wanli era of the Ming dynasty to store Chinese Buddhist scriptures; it also later became a permanent celebration place for the imperial families of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Line 16 (Beijing Subway)
Line 16 of the Beijing Subway () is a rapid transit rail line in Beijing. Currently, the line is in length with 16 stations. It will be with 30 stations when fully completed. The line is fully underground. Construction began in December 2013. The northern section, from to was opened on 31 December 2016. An infill station, was opened on December 30, 2017. The Beijing Subway is the rapid transit system of Beijing Municipality that consists of 25 lines including 20 rapid transit lines, two airport rail links, one maglev line and 2 light rail lines, and 463 stations.
