''Waar'' (Urdu: ; , ) is a 2013 Pakistani action-thriller film directed by Bilal Lashari (in his feature directorial debut), written by Hassan Rana, and produced by Syed Mujtaba Tirmizi, it stars Shaan Shahid as Major Mujtaba Rizvi, a retired Pakistan Army Officer, Meesha Shafi, Ali Azmat, Shamoon Abbasi, Ayesha Khan, and Kamran Lashari. The film follows Major Mujtaba Rizvi (Shahid), an officer, who returns from his retirement to save Pakistan from a major terrorist attack. It is a stylized depiction of events surrounding Pakistan's efforts to conduct a War in North-West Pakistan, war on terror on state-sponsored terror groups, which resulted in warfare among tribal units in North-West Pakistan. One incident included a terrorist 2009 Lahore police academy attacks, attack on a Police Academy at Lahore in 2009. Bilal Lashari
Bilal Lashari is a Pakistani filmmaker, cinematographer, screenwriter and occasional actor. He made his directorial debut with ''Waar'' (2013), which at the time of release became Pakistan's List of highest-grossing Pakistani films, highest-grossing film (currently 11th highest). His next project titled ''The Legend of Maula Jatt'' (2022) was a remake of the 1979 film Maula Jatt. The film broke box office records and became List of highest-grossing Pakistani films, Pakistan's highest grossing film. Waseem Badami ( ur, ) is a Pakistani television host and news anchor who currently hosts a political talk show ''11th Hour'' on ARY News.
