WHYM (1260 AM) is an American radio station licensed to serve Lake City, South Carolina. The station is currently owned by Community Broadcasters, LLC. The station currently simulcasts WFRK, a news/talk station known as "Live 95". Programming Syndicated talk show hosts formerly on WHYM included Glenn Beck, Dennis Miller, Fred Thompson, and Alan Colmes. Sports coverage included Fox Sports Radio, the weekday morning ''Press Box with Allen Smothers'' and University of South Carolina sports. Fox News Radio airs each hour. Licensed to Fair Bluff, North Carolina, United States, and serving the Whiteville, North Carolina area, the station is owned by Augusta Radio Fellowship Institute. History The station went on the air as WSIM on May 2, 2000. On June 18, 2003, the station changed its call sign to WPPG, then to WNFI on September 7, 2004, on March 22, 2005 to WODR, and on December 15, 2015 to the current WGHJ. The South Carolina Gamecocks represent the University of South Carolina in the NCAA Division I. The University of South Carolina uses "Gamecocks" as its official nickname and mascot. While the men's teams were traditionally known as the Fighting Gamecocks and the women's teams were previously known as the Lady Gamecocks, this distinction was discontinued in part to eliminate any gender bias in the athletic department and in part to counter misconceptions about the gamecock mascot endorsing bloodsport.
