WGMU-LP, UHF analog channel 39, was a low-powered television station licensed to Burlington, Vermont, United States. It was a satellite of Retro TV affiliate WNMN in Saranac Lake, New York. The station was owned by CEC Media Group. The station had studios on Pine Haven Shores Road in Shelburne. Its transmitter was located in Charlotte. On cable, the station can be seen on Charter channel 18, and Comcast channel 80. History WGMU-LP originally signed-on on July 26, 1994 as W39AS but identified themselves on-air as "WWIN". On January 11, 1995, the station joined The WB. In 1998, W39AS changed its call letters to WBVT-LP. In May 1999, WB programming began airing on Fox affiliate WFFF-TV in a secondary nature and WBVT-LP picked up UPN from WWBI-LP. WYCI (channel 40) is a television station licensed to Saranac Lake, New York, United States, serving the Burlington, Vermont–Plattsburgh, New York market as an affiliate of MyNetworkTV. It is owned by Gray Television alongside Burlington-licensed CBS affiliate WCAX-TV (channel 3). Both stations share studios on Joy Drive in South Burlington, Vermont, while WYCI's transmitter is located on Mount Pisgah north of Saranac Lake, along the Essex– Franklin county line. Although WYCI is licensed as a full-power station, its broadcast range only covers the immediate Saranac Lake/ Lake Placid area. Therefore, the station relies on cable and satellite carriage to reach the entire market. WFFF-TV (channel 44) is a television station licensed to Burlington, Vermont, United States, serving as the Fox affiliate for the Burlington, Vermont–Plattsburgh, New York market. It is owned by Nexstar Media Group, which provides certain services to ABC affiliate WVNY (channel 22, also licensed to Burlington) under a shared services agreement (SSA) with Mission Broadcasting. Both stations share studios on Mountain View Drive in Colchester, Vermont, while WFFF-TV's transmitter is located on Vermont's highest peak, Mount Mansfield. However, master control and some internal operations are based at Springfield, Massachusetts–licensed Nexstar sister station and NBC affiliate WWLP's studios in Chicopee. WWBI-LP, UHF analog channel 27, was a low-powered Ion Television-affiliated station licensed to Plattsburgh, New York, United States. The station was owned by SMC Communications. WWBI was licensed as a Class A station, even though the calls list it as an "-LP"; this was the case with many other stations licensed prior to 1999, when the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) began to assign the "-CA" suffix for Class A licenses. Equity Media Holdings Corporation was a broadcasting company based in Little Rock, Arkansas that owned and operated television stations across the United States. Prior to March 30, 2007, the company was known as Equity Broadcasting, a name later used for its broadcast station subsidiary. The company had a focus on Hispanic and Asian American communities in large markets while owning a combination of English-language network affiliates in medium and small markets. In the broadcasting industry, a dark television station or silent radio station is one that has gone off the air for an indefinite period of time. Usually unlike dead air (broadcasting only silence), a station that is dark or silent does not even transmit a carrier signal.
