World Chiropractic Alliance
The World Chiropractic Alliance (WCA) is a not-for-profit corporation founded in Arizona in 1989 that serves as the voice of conservative "straight" chiropractors (those who rely exclusively on subluxation-correction). The Alliance claims to be "the only major chiropractic organization which passionately defends the rights of subluxation-based doctors and will stand up against those who would corrupt chiropractic by denying its philosophical and vitalistic foundations," and believes that spinal adjustment should begin at birth and continue for life, even in the absence of symptoms. It tends to have an antagonistic relationship to the World Federation of Chiropractic because of philosophical differences. Background The WCA supports "straight" chiropractic, with its emphasis on subluxation-correction, drug-free care, and non-medical approaches to wellness. This stance has brought it into conflict with the majority "mixer" school of chiropractic that favors use of more mainstream ...

Work Capability Assessment
The Work Capability Assessment (WCA) is used by the British Government's Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to decide whether and to what extent welfare benefit claimants are capable of doing work or work-related activities. The outcome of the assessment also determines whether claimants are entitled to Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), or more recently, additional elements of Universal Credit (UC). Assessment process The process is ultimately a legal one that uses social security legislation as its main reference point (which is why appeals are made to tribunals overseen by the Ministry of Justice). The main assessment process starts as soon as can be arranged after 13 weeks from the initial claim, when a healthcare professional approved by the DWP scrutinises the claim form and decides whether to seek ...

Washington Christian Academy
Washington Christian Academy (WCA) is a private Christian school established in 1960 in Silver Spring, Maryland that is now located in Olney, Maryland, at a new campus that was completed in 2008. History Formation Washington Christian Academy was formed when local families from Presbyterian and Christian Reformed churches in the area felt the need for a strong, biblically based and diverse school in the Washington metropolitan area. For the time, the school defied cultural values and created a school that specifically named diversity as one of its top qualities. The school was formed as Washington Christian School in 1960 for grades K-4. WCS grew gradually, and in 1982 it leased a larger building from the county on Franwall Avenue in Silver Spring, which allowed it to add a middle school and offer instruction through the eighth grade. WCS expanded again in 1996 when it merged with the nearby Silver Spring Christian Academy (a local high school formed by parents of WCS alumni), ...
