Wyoming Highway 316 (WYO 316) is an east–west Wyoming state road in central Platte County. Route description Wyoming Highway 316 begins its western end in on the eastern side of Wheatland at I-25 Business/ US 87 Business (9th Street). Highway 316 heads east, named Gilchrist Street, crosses railroad tracks and Rock Creek before passing along the south side of Phifer Airfield on Wheatland's eastern edge. WYO 316 leaves Wheatland at eight-tenths of a mile and passes through the community ( CDP) of Chugcreek and changes names to Antelope Gap Road. Past Chugcreek, WYO 316 crosses Chugwater Creek as it continues east until reaching its end at a junction with Dickinson Hill and Deer Creek Roads east of Wheatland. Wyoming Highway 59 (WYO 59) is a north–south state highway that runs from Douglas to the Montana–Wyoming State Line, where the roadway continues as Montana Highway 59. Route description Douglas Wyoming Highway 59 begins its southern end at an intersection with I-25 BUS/ US 20 BUS/ US 26 BUS/ US 87 BUS (W. Converse County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wyoming. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 13,751. Its county seat is Douglas. History Converse County was created in 1888 by the legislature of the Wyoming Territory, of area annexed from Albany and Laramie counties. Converse County was named for A.R. Converse, a banker and rancher from Cheyenne, Wyoming, who was co-owner with Francis E. Warren in a large ranch in the eastern part of Converse County.
