Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. It is defined for its emphasis on classic pop songcraft, as well as adolescent and anti-suburbia themes, and is distinguished from other punk-variant genres by drawing more heavily from 1960s bands such as the Beatles, the Kinks, and the Beach Boys. Digger (band)
Digger is an American pop punk band from Pennsylvania, signed to Hopeless Records. History Digger formed in the Lehigh Valley in the mid-1990s and signed to Hopeless Records in 1996. Upon the event of Digger's live recording being played on WMUH the word of the band spread quickly, which led to the band's sign to Hopeless Records. The band released their first LP, ''Powerbait'', and toured until the band came back to the studio to record ''The Promise of an Uncertain Future''. The band became a three piece in this era, and launched a world tour. Then ''Monte Carlo'' was released as a follow-up. Not very long afterward, Digger released the '' Trainwreck EP''. Then after another member change, Digger released what would be their last full album, '' Keystone''. Manges
The Manges are an Italian pop punk band who formed in La Spezia in 1993. The band's first release was a 2000 split with the McRackins titled ''Amp Records Battle Royale!'' In 2001 the Manges recorded their debut album ''The Manges 'R' Good Enough'' for Stardumb Records. The album drew comparisons to the Ramones and included a cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Goonies 'R' Good Enough". The band is closely associated with The Queers, having gone on a European tour with the band; in 2003 the two bands recorded the split album '' Acid Beaters'' together. Former Queers bassist Phillip Hill produced the Manges second album ''Go Down''. Melody Fall
Melody Fall (often shortened to MF) is an Italian pop punk band, that formed in 2003 in Turin. History In January 2005, Fabrizio Pan (Vocals, Guitar), PierAndrea Palumbo (Bass, backing vocals) and Marco Ferro (Drums) were in their first year of high school in Turin. They wanted to play music like pop punk bands Blink-182, Sum 41 and New Found Glory. They formed a band called Ducks 33, and started to play live in Turin at band contests and schools. After a year of shows, they became more well-known, and decided to record their first demo. Andrea Fusini, an Italian producer, saw the band at a show in July 2005 and decided to produce an EP for them, Melody Fall EP. Guitarist Davide Pica was added to the lineup around the start of the recording process, and the band decided to change their name to Melody Fall. The EP wasn't released at first in Italy. The Travoltas
The Travoltas are a Dutch pop punk band from the Netherlands. With a sound that combines an energetic mix of the Beach Boys and the Ramones, the band is often referred to as 'The Beach Boys of punk rock'.


History


Early years: 1990–1996

The Travoltas formed in 1990, with founding members Perry Leenhouts, Vincent Koreman, and Stephan LaHaye joining forces after the demise of the Dutch punkrock formation Kriezus (“Crisis”). With a sound that combines an energetic mix of the Beach Boys and the Ramones, and a dash of the Cars, The Travoltas have had a prolific recording career and sport a list of albums, compilations, EPs, singles, and videos to their credit. With Erik van Vugt replacing LaHaye in 1993, the band released their EP debut, “Kill! Kill! Kill! Sex! Sex! Sex!” in early 1996.

Vanilla Sky (band)
Vanilla Sky is an Italian pop punk group formed in 2002. Their first album, ''Play It If You Can't Say It'', was released November 6, 2002. The band currently consists of Jacopo Volpe on drums, Francesco Sarsano on bass, and both Vincenzo Mario Cristi and Daniele Brian Autore on vocals and guitar. To date they have released 4 albums, regularly play tours in mainland Europe and have had modest success in Japan. History 2002-2004: Formation and early career Vanilla sky was formed in February 2002. The band members met in Rome, Italy, intent on starting a new project which would mesh previous experiences with a new American punk style. Hopes Die Last
Hopes Die Last is an Italian post-hardcore band from Rome, formed in 2004. Previously signed to StandBy Records, the band has self-released their latest EP. At the time of their breakup the line-up consisted of Daniele Tofani (lead vocals), Marco Mantovani (guitar/backing vocals) and Luigi Magliocca (guitar). To date, the band has released two studio albums and three EPs. On January 6, 2017, Hopes Die Last announced their breakup. The remaining band members, except Luigi Magliocca, formed a new band entitled ALPHAWOLVES. In February 2022 the band announced on Instagram that they were getting back together with their original lineup.
