Kathleen Wynne
Kathleen O'Day Wynne ( ; born May 21, 1953) is a Canadian former politician who served as the 25th premier of Ontario and leader of the Ontario Liberal Party from 2013 to 2018. She was elected to the Legislative Assembly in 2003 and sat as the member of provincial parliament (MPP) for Don Valley West until 2022. Wynne is the first female premier of Ontario and the first openly gay premier in Canada. Wynne was first elected to public office as a trustee for the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) in 2000. She subsequently was elected to the Ontario Legislature in 2003. Under Premier Dalton McGuinty, she served in various cabinet posts, until resigning to run in the Liberal leadership race when McGuinty announced his resignation in 2012. Greville Wynne
Greville Maynard Wynne (19 March 1919 – 28 February 1990) was a British engineer and businessman recruited by MI6 because of his frequent travel to Eastern Europe. He acted as a courier to transport top-secret information to London from Soviet agent Oleg Penkovsky. Wynne and Penkovsky were both arrested by the KGB in November 1962, when some of the information their endeavours produced was of assistance to the West during the Cuban Missile Crisis. They were convicted of espionage. Penkovsky was executed the following year and Wynne was sentenced to eight years imprisonment. He was detained at Lubyanka prison. Philippé Wynne (''aka'' Philippe Escalante Wynn; ''né'' Walker; April 3, 1941 – July 14, 1984) was an American singer, best known for his role as a lead vocalist of The Spinners (a role he shared with fellow group members Bobby Smith and Henry Fambrough). Wynne scored notable hits such as "How Could I Let You Get Away", "The Rubberband Man", and " One of a Kind (Love Affair)". After leaving The Spinners, Wynne never regained the same success, although he was featured in hits by other artists such as " (Not Just) Knee Deep" by Funkadelic. Wynne died of a heart attack while performing at a nightclub. General Khalid Shameem Wynne ( ur, ; 28 August 1953 – 30 December 2017), was a four-star General in the Pakistan Army who served as the 14th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee appointed in 2010 until retiring on 8 October 2013. Edward Wynne (born 3 June 1961) is an English guitarist and keyboardist best known as a founding member, principal composer and the only constant member of psychedelic rock band Ozric Tentacles. Biography Ed Wynne was born in Wandsworth, London, England, and is the son of English sculptor David Wynne, and the grandson of English author Joan Grant. Family friend and late Beatles guitarist, George Harrison, encouraged a seven year old Wynne to pick up the guitar. Edith Gladys Wynne (27 June 1876 – 24 March 1968) was an Irish watercolour artist who spent most of her life in Glendalough, County Wicklow. She painted the area and landscape throughout her career. Work Although Co. Wicklow, and particularly Glendalough, had a huge influence on Wynne and are strongly represented in her work, there were also other influences. She visited Florence and Rome as part of her art education and she also travelled in Germany. Evidence of her travels can be seen in a number of her painted scenes of Italy and a book she wrote on architectural history for children which was first published by Thomas Nelson in about 1913. Marvell Wynne (born December 17, 1959) is an American former professional baseball player. He played eight seasons in Major League Baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1983–85), San Diego Padres (1986–89), and Chicago Cubs (1989–90), primarily as a center fielder. William Anthony Wynne (March 29, 1922 – April 19, 2021) was an American author, photographer, award-winning photojournalist, and community advocate. He was also known as a decorated veteran, having owned and trained Smoky the Dog during World War II. Early life and education Wynne was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in March 1922, to Martin A. and Beatrice Caffrey Wynne. He grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, after moving there as an infant.
