Wydarzenia (''Events'') is the news program of the Polsat, Poland's second biggest television channel, which started airing in 2004. The creator of ''“Wydarzenia”'' was Tomasz Lis. Currently, the editor-in-chief of the program is Dorota Gawryluk (at first from March to December 2016, then from March 2018 to present times). The program is produced and aired from Polsat News studio in Warsaw. In 2021, it was confirmed that average audience of ''"Wydarzenia"'' is estimated to be at 1.72 million. Wydarzenia 24 is a Polish all-news format TV channel, launched on 2 October 2006 as Superstacja. Prior to the Polsat takeover in 2018, STER, a company affiliated with Polsat's owner Zygmunt Solorz-Żak, was the channel's owner. History 2006-2009 In March 2006, the National Broadcasting Council awarded a license to Superstacja. The channel's first editor was Sławomir Kińczyk, who resigned in 2007. Superstacja was launched by Astro Sp. z.o.o. and K&R Enterprises Sp. z.o.o., linked to television producer Ryszard Krajewski. The first company was notorious for producing Familiada, the Polish adaptation of Family Feud. Polsat News is a Polish news channel, launched on 7 June 2008 at 7:00am (UTC+1). Being a part of the Polsat Network, Polsat News is owned by Polsat Group. It is available over Cyfrowy Polsat, nc+ and UPC Poland digital platforms in Poland. It is broadcast on Hot Bird 6, 11158V, 27500 3/4. History Polsat News started broadcasting on 7 June 2008 thirty seconds before the 7am hour (UTC+1). Polsat News is the first Polish news channel to broadcast in 16:9 format. From 7 June to 14 July the channel was broadcast in test emission. Up to September, the channel was broadcast as FTA. The live programme is broadcast from 6am to 24:00 (UTC+1). Tomasz Lis
Tomasz Rafał Lis (born 6 March 1966 in Zielona Góra) is a Polish journalist and former TV anchor of “TVN Fakty” ("TVN Facts") and “Wydarzenia” ("Events"). Life and career Lis was born on 6 March 1966 in Zielona Góra to parents Stefan and Wanda (née Adamkiewicz). He attended the Edward Dembowski High School No. 1 in Zielona Góra. He subsequently graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Sciences at the University of Warsaw. He began his career in 1984 publishing an article in a pro-Soviet newspaper ''Banner of Youth'' (''Sztandar Młodych''), an organ of the Union of Socialistic Youth in Poland (Związek Socjalistycznej Młodzieży Polskiej). In 1992, he received a scholarship and studied for a year at Loyola University New Orleans.
