Hanyu Pinyin (), often shortened to just pinyin, is the official romanization system for Standard Mandarin Chinese in China, and to some extent, in Singapore and Malaysia. ''Polyporus'' is a genus of poroid fungi in the family Polyporaceae. Taxonomy Italian botanist Pier Antonio Micheli introduced the genus in 1729 to include 14 species featuring fruit bodies with centrally-placed stipes, and pores on the underside of the cap. Chinese classic herbal formulas () are combinations of herbs used in Chinese herbology for supposed greater efficiency in comparison to individual herbs. They are the basic herbal formulas that students of Traditional Chinese medicine learn. Later these students will adapt these classic formulas to match the needs of each patient. History Many of these formulas were created by the pioneers of Chinese medicine and are quite old. Bu Zhong Yi Qi Wan
Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang () is a Chinese classic herbal formula. In Japanese kampo, it is known as "Hochū-ekki-tō" ( (it is also known as Kampo #41). It is commonly made into Chinese patent medicine. Variations The formula was created by Lǐ Dōng-yuán (). It was published in "Treatise on the Spleen and Stomach" () in 1249. There are many variations of the formula proportions. Each maker of Chinese patent medicine changes the proportions of the herbs slightly. The proportions are standardized in the Japanese kampo formula, however. Some herbs may be changed also.
