Wu Rong-ming
Wu Rong-ming (; born 23 December 1943) is a Taiwanese politician. In the 1980s, Wu worked in the Taipei City Government. From 1993 to 1994, he was secretary-general of the Examination Yuan. Wu was close to James Soong, whom he served under as vice governor of Taiwan Province from 1994 to 1998. The Kuomintang chose to expel Soong in 1999 for running an independent presidential campaign. Wu, who had resigned his position as minister without portfolio to become Soong's campaign manager, had his party membership rescinded. After Chen Shui-bian won the presidential election, it was reported that Wu had Premier Tang Fei's support to lead the Ministry of the Interior. Instead, Wu was officially named minister without portfolio for the second time and led the Ministry of Civil Service under the purview of the Examination Yuan. Examination Yuan
The Examination Yuan is the civil service commission branch, in charge of validating the qualification of civil servants, of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan). It has a president, a vice president, and seven to nine members, all of whom are nominated by the president of the republic and confirmed by the Legislative Yuan for four-year terms according to Republic of China laws. Tang Fei (; born 15 March 1932) is a retired ROC Air Force general. He served as the premier of the Republic of China between May 20 and October 6, 2000, under the Chen Shui-bian government of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), even though he was a member of the Kuomintang (KMT). Biography Tang Fei was born on March 15, 1932, in Taicang, Jiangsu, Republic of China. He enrolled in the Chinese Air Force Preparatory School at the age of 12 and graduated in 1950. Chen Shui-bian
Chen Shui-bian (; born 12 October 1950) is a retired Taiwanese politician and lawyer who served as the president of the Republic of China (Taiwan) from 2000 to 2008. Chen was the first president from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) which ended the Kuomintang's (KMT) 55 years of continuous rule in Taiwan. He is colloquially referred to as A-Bian (阿扁). A lawyer, Chen entered politics in 1980 during the Kaohsiung Incident as a member of the Tangwai movement and was elected to the Taipei City Council in 1981. The Taipei City Government (TCG) is the municipal government of Taipei. History The Taihoku City Government was founded on 10 October 1920 in Taihoku Prefecture during Japanese colonial rule. The original city hall was located at the site of the Taihoku City Hall (modern-day Zhongshan Hall) in Zhongzheng District. After Taiwan was handed over to the Republic of China on 25 October 1945, Taipei became a provincial municipality and was renamed to Taipei City Government even though the city was the capital city of Taiwan Province but it moved to Zhongxing New Village from 1956.
