Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. Golf, unlike most ball games, cannot and does not use a standardized playing area, and coping with the varied terrains encountered on different courses is a key part of the game. Gary Boyd (golfer)
Gary Stuart Boyd (born 4 October 1986) is an English professional golfer who currently plays on the Challenge Tour. Boyd was born in Banbury, England and attended Chenderit School in Middleton Cheney. He turned professional in 2007. Boyd had a strong start to the 2009 Challenge Tour season, recording his first win at the Tusker Kenya Open. He followed that by finishing as runner-up to Edoardo Molinari at the Piemonte Open, to lead the Challenge Tour Rankings at the end of May. He had a good first season on the European Tour in 2010, the highlight being a runner-up finish at the Czech Open and he finished 50th on the Order of Merit. However after a poor 2012 season he lost his full playing rights on tour. In 2015 he played on the Challenge Tour, initially on invitations, and finished seventh to earn a return to the European Tour. Richard McEvoy
Richard McEvoy (born 13 June 1979) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. In July 2018, he had his third Challenge Tour win, the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge and then won the Porsche European Open, on the European Tour, the following week. Amateur career McEvoy's amateur wins included the 2001 Lytham Trophy, and the 2001 Irish Amateur Open Championship. He was a member of the 2001 Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup team, and turned professional at the end of the year. Professional career McEvoy won two third-tier PGA EuroPro Tour events in 2002, before gaining a European Tour card at the 2003 final qualifying school where he was also medalist. He has played several seasons on the tour, but never made enough money in a season to retain his card, until 2010. Andrew Butterfield (born 1 July 1972) is an English professional golfer. He played on the European Tour and its development tour, the Challenge Tour, between 1996 and 2012. He won one tournament on the Challenge Tour, in June 2009 at The Princess in Sweden. Career Butterfield was born in London, England. He turned professional in 1993. In 1995, he won the Kent Open and gained a place on the Challenge Tour for the following season. He played on the Challenge Tour until qualifying for the European Tour through Q-School in 1999. Butterfield did not perform well enough on tour in 2000 to retain his card and had to go back to the Challenge Tour in 2001. He got his European Tour card back through Q-School again in 2001 and played on the European Tour in 2002 but did not find any success on tour. He returned to the Challenge Tour and played there until 2005 when he finished 4th on the Challenge Tour's Order of Merit which earned him his European Tour card for 2006. He did not play well ... Eric Thomas Ramsay (born 2 August 1979) is a Scottish professional golfer. Ramsay was born in Dundee. In 2005 he won the Australian Amateur and finished in a tie for 23rd place at the 2005 Open Championship, one stroke behind Lloyd Saltman in the race for the silver medal as the low amateur. The tour started as the Satellite Tour with its first Order of Merit rankings in 1989 and was officially renamed as the Challenge Tour at the start of the 1990 season.
