The 2023 WrestleDream was the inaugural WrestleDream professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the American promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It took place on October 1, 2023, at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, marking AEW's first PPV to be held in the state of Washington. The event was a tribute show in honor of New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) founder Antonio Inoki; it took place on the one-year anniversary of his death. The 2023 Full Gear was the fifth annual Full Gear professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It took place on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Kia Forum in the Los Angeles suburb of Inglewood, California. Eleven matches were contested at the event, including three on the "Zero Hour" pre-show. In the main event, MJF defeated Jay White to retain the AEW World Championship. In other prominent matches, "Timeless" Toni Storm defeated Hikaru Shida to win her record-tying third AEW Women's World Championship and Swerve Strickland defeated "Hangman" Adam Page in a Texas Death match. Muhammad Hussain Inoki (born ; February 20, 1943 – October 1, 2022) was a Japanese professional wrestler, martial artist, politician, and promoter of professional wrestling and mixed martial arts. He was best known by the ring name , a homage to fellow professional wrestler Antonino Rocca. Inoki was a twelve-time professional wrestling world champion, notably being the first IWGP Heavyweight Champion and the first Asian WWF Heavyweight Champion – a reign not officially recognized by WWE. In the English speaking professional wrestling culture, a "dirt sheet" is a wrestling magazine, wrestling newsletter or website that covers professional wrestling from a real-life perspective as opposed to treating the storylines as real. Another term sometimes used for these publications is "rag sheet." Reputation Many wrestlers in the past resented so-called "dirt sheets" since they felt that they ruined the business by breaking kayfabe, i.e. exposing professional wrestling as staged.
