Worrisome Heart
''Worrisome Heart'' is the debut studio album by American singer and songwriter Melody Gardot. It was released independently in 2006 and later re-released in 2007 and 2008 by Verve Records in the United States and by Universal Classics and Jazz (UCJ) internationally. The album contains new recordings of songs previously released on Gardot's first extended play, '' Some Lessons: The Bedroom Sessions'' (2005), as well as previously unreleased tracks. Background Speaking of how the album first came to be made, Gardot told British writer Pete Lewis of ''Blues & Soul'' in November 2008: "It was created independently of a record company. It was made privately. So my only intention, or my only , was to make a record that at the end of the day I was happy with. And the way that the instrumentation was decided on was based on what I heard in my head, and what I thought would the best. Melody Gardot
Melody Gardot (; born February 2, 1985) is an American jazz singer. At the age of 19, Gardot was involved in a bicycle accident and sustained a head injury. Music played a critical role in her recovery. She became an advocate of music therapy, visiting hospitals and universities to discuss its benefits. In 2012, she gave her name to a music therapy program in New Jersey. Early life and education Gardot was born in New Jersey and was brought up by her grandparents. Her grandmother was a Polish immigrant. Her mother, a photographer, traveled often, so they had few possessions and lived out of suitcases. Gardot studied fashion at the Community College of Philadelphia. Accident and therapy While riding her bicycle in Philadelphia in November 2003, Gardot was struck by an SUV and sustained head, spinal, and pelvic injuries. The Oricon Albums Chart is the Japanese music industry standard albums popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Oricon originally published LP, CT, Cartridge and CD charts prior to the establishment of the Oricon Albums Chart on October 5, 1987. The Oricon Albums Chart's rankings are based on physical albums' sales. Oricon did not include download sales until its establishment of the Digital Albums Chart on November 19, 2016. In November 2018, Oricon began to include streaming in its album rankings, introducing a combined album chart based on album-equivalent units.
