World Trade Center Montevideo
The World Trade Center Montevideo (WTC Montevideo) is a building complex located in Montevideo, Uruguay. It was officially opened in 1998, and renovated between 2002 and 2009. The official motto is ''"Work in the best place to live"''. Location The WTC Montevideo is only 30 minutes away from Carrasco International Airport and 15 minutes away from the Port of Montevideo. It is next to Montevideo Shopping, in Buceo, the area of greatest growth in the city in recent years. Avenues of easy traffic flow which surround the Complex guarantee a quick access to it. The Complex has thus achieved true decentralization in the city, consolidating the trend set by its neighbor, Montevideo Shopping, over 20 years ago by moving the center of gravity of the city. Carrasco International Airport
Carrasco/General Cesáreo L. Berisso International Airport is the main international airport of Uruguay. It is the country's largest airport and is located in the Carrasco neighborhood of Montevideo. It has been cited as one of the most efficient and traveler-friendly airports in Latin America. The airport is named after Cesáreo L. Montevideo Shopping Center is the first shopping mall that opened in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is located in the neighborhood Buceo, on the border with Pocitos, right in front of the World Trade Center Montevideo. The mall Opened in 1985 and later expanded, it has 181 shops on three levels; parking place for 2051 vehicles on six levels. It was created by Estudio Gómez Platero, López Rey Estudio Gómez Platero, with the intervention of the engineer Eladio Dieste in the original brick structure. The original idea for the mall came from the accountant Luis Eugenio Lecueder. The seagull design was made by cartoonist Gabriel Odera. The mall is managed by the Estudio Luis E. Buceo is a ''barrio'' (neighbourhood or district) in Montevideo, Uruguay. Location Buceo borders Pocitos and Villa Dolores, Montevideo, Villa Dolores to the west, Parque Batlle, Unión, Montevideo, Unión and Malvín Norte to the north, Malvín to the east and the coastline to the south. Features and maritime activities The coastal avenue along Buceo takes on the names Rambla of Montevideo, Rambla Armenia and Rambla República de Chile. The World Trade Center (WTC) is a mostly completed complex of buildings in the Lower Manhattan neighborhood of New York City, U.S., replacing the original seven buildings on the same site that were destroyed in the September 11 attacks.
