Woodcroft is a neighbourhood located in northwest Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Surrounded by a mixture of residential neighbourhoods and light industrial subdivisions, it is bounded by 118 Avenue to the north, Groat Road to the east, 111 Avenue to the south, and 142 Street to the west. The neighbourhoods is home to Coronation Park and the Telus World of Science. The six residential neighbourhoods adjacent to Woodcroft include Dovercourt to the north, Sherbrooke to the northeast, Inglewood to the east, Westmount to the southeast, North Glenora to the south, and McQueen to the southwest. Huff Bremner Estate and Dominion Industrial are located to the west and northwest. The community is represented by the Woodcroft Community League, established in 1957, which maintains a community hall and outdoor rink located at 139 Street and 115 Avenue. Woodcroft is a small village in the Forest of Dean district of Gloucestershire, England. It is located on the eastern bank of the River Wye, opposite Piercefield House, two miles north of the Welsh town of Chepstow. The village is immediately north of Tutshill, within the parish of Tidenham. The population in 2011 was 284. History Woodcroft was originally common land in "Bishton tithing" to the south of Tidenham Chase. Powder House Farm standing east of the road between Tutshill and Woodcroft was one of the farm-houses on the Tidenham manor estate in 1769 and was a stone house with a thatched roof in 1813. Woodcroft is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Woodcroft is located 37 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Blacktown and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region. Woodcroft Lake is on Bricketwood Drive and the Neighbourhood Centre is beside it. It is popular among the community. The suburb contains many play areas. History From 1969 to 1988 Woodcroft was the State Brickworks in Doonside (and prior to 1969 it was the location of the State Timberworks). In 1989, the land was purchased by estate agents and developers LJ Hooker. After rezoning, residential construction commenced in 1992 and Woodcroft was formally recognized as a suburb in 1996. Woodcroft, South Australia
Woodcroft is a metropolitan suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, located 20 km south of the Central Business District of Adelaide. It is bordered to the north by Reynell Road, to the south by Bains Road, to the west by Panalatinga Road and by the Hills Face Zone to the east. The Panalatinga Creek also runs through the suburb. History The first Europeans settled in 1869 by Robert Wright and his wife Mary, who built a small limestone and mud dwelling on of land 3 km east of John Reynell's settlement at Reynella. In 1897 vigneron Richard Mostyn Owen (c1874-1941) established his Mount Hurtle winery and built a homestead called Woodcroft Farm, from which the suburb took its name. Although traces of Wright's dwelling still exist in a small park named after him, and Mount Hurtle is a still a boutique winery, both settlements passed out of their respective families in the 1970s into the hands of the South Australian Lands Commission and the entire area was subdivided ...
