Wolston Correctional Centre
Wolston Correctional Centre is an Australian high-security prison facility in Wacol, Queensland, Australia. Wolston is a 'protection' prison, and as such houses many paedophiles, sex offenders and high-profile prisoners. In addition to those classes of prisoner mentioned above, the majority of prisoners at Wolston Correctional Centre are non-sex-offender prisoners, who have been transferred to the protection prison from other mainstream prisons because they have provided information to prison authorities about fellow inmates and their safety has been threatened. These types of prisoners are known as "informers", or more colloquially in prison slang as "dogs". Like most Queensland prisons, Wolston Correctional Centre is severely overcrowded, with some cells designed for a single prisoner accommodating two or more prisoners. Wacol is a suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Wacol had a population of 3,761 people. Daniel Morcombe
Daniel James Morcombe (19 December 1989 – 7 December 2003) was an Australian boy who was abducted from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland on 7 December 2003 when he was 13 years old. Eight years later, Brett Peter Cowan (born 18 September 1969), a former Sunshine Coast resident, was charged with Morcombe's murder. In the same month, DNA tests confirmed bones in the Glass House Mountains were Morcombe's. On 13 March 2014, Cowan was found guilty of the murder, and was sentenced to life imprisonment for indecently dealing with a child and interference with a corpse. Paul Pisasale
Paul Pisasale is a former mayor of the City of Ipswich in Queensland, Australia, and convicted extortionist. Pisasale was mayor of Ipswich from 2004 to 2017, making him one of Queensland's longest-serving mayors, and was last elected in 2016 with 83.45% of the popular vote. He resigned as mayor in 2017 following a raid on his office by the Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission. He was subsequently charged with corruption in 2017. Brett Peter Cowan
Brett Peter Cowan (born 18 September 1969) is an Australian murderer and child rapist. He was convicted of the murder of Daniel Morcombe, a 13-year old boy who disappeared from the Sunshine Coast on 7 December 2003. His abduction led to an eight-year investigation involving various suspects. As a result of these investigations Cowan led under cover police to a potential burial site. He was charged with the murder that same month and Morcombe's remains were discovered days later on 17 August. Massimo 'Max' Sica is a convicted triple murderer, having been found guilty of killing his former girlfriend Neelma Singh, and her siblings Kunal and Sidhi in April 2003.
