Massimo Sica
Massimo 'Max' Sica is a convicted triple murderer, having been found guilty of killing his former girlfriend Neelma Singh, and her siblings Kunal and Sidhi in April 2003. Sica is from an Italian family. Prior to the murders, he had numerous criminal convictions, including unlawful possession of a firearm and arson. Singh Murders At 2.30pm on Tuesday April 22, 2003, Sica made an emergency call from 20 Grass Tree Close, Bridgeman Downs in Brisbane's north, where police arrived to find bodies of Singh siblings Neelma Singh, aged 24, Kunal Singh, aged 18, and Sidhi Singh, aged 12. John Byrne (judge)
John Harris Byrne (born 16 October 1948) is a retired Australian jurist who previously served as Senior Judge Administrator of the Supreme Court of Queensland. Having been a judge of that court since 1989, he was one of the court's most experienced judges. He was also Chair of the National Judicial College of Australia, a body which provides programs and professional development resources to judicial officers in Australia. He is now a private Commercial Arbitrator. Pre-judicial career Byrne commenced his legal career as an articled clerk for Morris Fletcher and Cross before being admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1972. District Court Of Queensland
The District Court of Queensland (QDC) is the second tier in the court hierarchy of Queensland, Australia. The Court deals with serious criminal offences such as rape, armed robbery and fraud. Juries are used to decide if defendants are guilty or not guilty. The original court was established in 1866 to ease the workload of the Supreme Court of Queensland. However, in 1921 the Queensland Parliament decided District Courts were no longer necessary and the courts were abolished. They were re-established by Parliament in 1958, again to relieve the workload in the Supreme Court. The present court is constituted under the ''District Court of Queensland Act 1967'' (Qld). That Act amalgamated the previous District Court in existence prior to 1967 into the new District Court. The District Court sits in 32 locations across Queensland.
