Wolfgang Kolmsee
Wolfgang Kolmsee (born 25 September 1954) is a retired (West) German triple jumper. He was born in Oberhausen. He finished eighth at the 1975 European Indoor Championships, fourth at the 1976 European Indoor Championships, sixth at the 1976 Summer Olympics, no-marked at the 1977 European Indoor Championships, finished sixth at the 1977 World Cup and eleventh at the 1980 European Indoor Championships. Kolmsee became West German champion in 1976, also winning national silver medals in 1974, 1977, 1981 and 1982. Indoors he became West German champion in 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1978. Triple Jump
The triple jump, sometimes referred to as the hop, step and jump or the hop, skip and jump, is a track and field event, similar to the long jump. As a group, the two events are referred to as the "horizontal jumps". The competitor runs down the track and performs a hop, a bound and then a jump into the sand pit. Lac is the resinous secretion of a number of species of lac insects, of which the most commonly cultivated is '' Kerria lacca''. Cultivation begins when a farmer gets a stick that contains eggs ready to hatch and ties it to the tree to be infested. Thousands of lac insects colonize the branches of the host trees and secrete the resinous pigment. The coated branches of the host trees are cut and harvested as sticklac. The harvested sticklac is crushed and sieved to remove impurities. The sieved material is then repeatedly washed to remove insect parts and other material. The resulting product is known as seedlac. The prefix ''seed'' refers to its pellet shape. Seedlac, which still contains 3–5% impurity, is processed into shellac by heat treatment or solvent extraction. Oberhausen (, ) is a city on the river Emscher in the Ruhr Area, Germany, located between Duisburg and Essen ( ).
