''Witchblade'' is a comic book series published by Top Cow Productions, an imprint of Image Comics, which ran from November 1995 to October 2015. The series was created by Top Cow founder and owner Marc Silvestri, editor David Wohl, writers Brian Haberlin and Christina Z, and artist Michael Turner. The ''Witchblade'' comic was adapted into a television series in 2001, as well as an anime, a manga and a novel in 2006. A feature film based on the comic, titled ''The Witchblade'', was announced for a 2009 release, but was never produced. A second ''Witchblade'' television series was announced for development in January 2017, but there has been no update since. Top Cow relaunched ''Witchblade'' comic in December 2017 with the creative team of writer Caitlin Kittredge and artist Roberta Ingranata. In comics, an ongoing series is a series that runs indefinitely. This is in contrast to limited series (a series intended to end after a certain number of issues thus limited), a one shot (a comic book which is not a part of an ongoing series), a graphic novel, or a trade paperback. However, a series of graphic novels may be considered ongoing as well. The term may also informally refer to a current or incomplete limited series with a predetermined number of issues. Feature Film

Danielle "Dani" Anastasia Baptiste''Angelus'' #1 (Dec. 2009) is a fictional, comic book superheroine in the series ''Witchblade'', published by Top Cow Productions, Top Cow. The character was introduced in the one-hundredth issue, becoming the series' co-lead. An athletic young dancer, Dani becomes the new host of the Witchblade, a mystical Gauntlet (glove), gauntlet that grants its host an assortment of powers. Angelus (comics)
The Angelus is an American comic character featured in publications by Top Cow Productions. Initially appearing in the first lineup of '' The Darkness'' in 1997, the Angelus has featured as an antagonist and occasional supporting character in issues of ''The Darkness'' and ''The Witchblade''. Described as the equal and opposite of the Darkness, as well as essentially being the mother of the Witchblade, the Angelus is a powerful opponent that has challenged both Jackie Estacado and Sara Pezzini on several occasions. Kenneth Irons is a fictional supervillain. He is depicted as the person behind nearly every evil deed in the Top Cow series ''Witchblade''. Fictional character biography Irons is the head of Irons International, businessman of the year of Fortune magazine and one of the ten richest men in the world. He made his fortune though drug trafficking, prostitution, slavery, and the arms industry. His one obsession is the Witchblade. Irons was born in the mid-to-late 12th century during the reign of King Richard I and served as a leader of the Templar Knights in the Third Crusade. He and his son Gerard, along with a group of other Knights, made their way into a holy place where they found and drank from the Holy Grail, making them immortal. A gauntlet is a variety of glove, particularly one having been constructed of hardened leather or metal plates which protected the hand and wrist of a combatant in Europe between the early fourteenth century and the Early Modern period. Today it can also refer to an extended cuff covering the forearm as part of a woman's garment.
