Wisconsin Highway 39
State Trunk Highway 39 (often called Highway 39, STH-39 or WIS 39) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It runs in east–west across south central Wisconsin from Edmund to New Glarus. WIS 39 is one of only two numbered state trunk highways, along with WIS 794, that share a number designation with an Interstate or US Highway within the state's borders. Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) policy prohibited dual designations within the state trunk highway system, prior to the commissioning of Interstate 39 (I-39) in 1992. Route description WIS 39 begins at the intersection of US Highway 18, less than a quarter of a mile (roughly 200 meters) from the unincorporated community of Edmund, Wisconsin. State Trunk Highway 69 (often called Highway 69, STH-69 or WIS 69) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It runs north–south in south central Wisconsin from the Illinois border near Monroe to Verona. Route description WIS 69 begins in Green County at the Illinois border near Clarno. At the state line, WIS 69 turns into Illinois Route 26 (IL 26), which runs southward to Freeport. WIS 69 continues north to Monroe, where it runs through the city along 7th Avenue. Near the northern edge of Monroe, WIS 69 meets WIS 11 and WIS 81 at a diamond interchange. Sugar River State Trail
The Sugar River State Trail is a long, , recreation rail trail in Wisconsin. This trail connects four communities: New Glarus, Monticello, Albany and Brodhead. The limestone-surfaced trail is on an abandoned railroad bed, and is used for bicycling, hiking, and snowmobiling. The trail follows the course of the Little Sugar and Sugar River and includes several trestle bridges. The Sugar River State Trail is part of the Aldo Leopold Legacy Trail System, linking with the Badger State Trail near Monticello. It also hosts a portion of the Ice Age Trail. State Trunk Highway 78 (often called Highway 78, STH-78 or WIS 78) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It runs north–south in south central Wisconsin from Portage to the Illinois border near Gratiot. History In the 1920s, Highway 78 was originally located on the Door County Peninsula on what is now Highway 57. In 1963, the segment of STH-78 from the new I-90/I-94 freeway interchange south of Portage northerly to Highway 33 was improved to a four-lane divided facility. State Trunk Highway 191 (often called Highway 191, STH-191 or WIS 191) is a state highway in southeastern Iowa County in the US state of Wisconsin that runs east–west from Dodgeville to Hollandale.
