Wisconsin Assembly, District 25
The 25th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in eastern Wisconsin, the district comprises central Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, Manitowoc County and part of eastern Calumet County, Wisconsin, Calumet County. It includes all of the cities of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Manitowoc and Chilton, Wisconsin, Chilton, as well as the villages of Hilbert, Wisconsin, Hilbert, Potter, Wisconsin, Potter, Reedsville, Wisconsin, Reedsville, St. Nazianz, Wisconsin, St. Nazianz, Valders, Wisconsin, Valders, and Whitelaw, Wisconsin, Whitelaw. Wisconsin Senate, District 9
The 9th Senate district of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in eastern Wisconsin, the district comprises most of Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties, as well as part of eastern Calumet County. Current elected officials Devin LeMahieu is the senator representing the 9th district. He was first elected in the 2014 general election. Robert F. Ziegelbauer (born August 26, 1951) is an American politician who served as an independent member of the Wisconsin State Assembly and is the current County Executive of Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. Rock County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, the population was 163,687. Its county seat is Janesville. Rock County comprises the Janesville- Beloit, WI Metropolitan Statistical Area and is included in the Madison-Janesville-Beloit, WI Combined Statistical Area. History Rock County was created in 1836 as a territorial county on December 7, 1836, from Milwaukee County and fully organized February 19, 1839. Beloit, Wisconsin
Beloit is a city in Rock County, Wisconsin, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 36,657 people. History Twelve men in Colebrook, New Hampshire, created the "New England Emigrating Company" in October 1836 and sent Horace White to find a suitable region of Wisconsin in which to settle. The level fields and the water power of Turtle Creek and "unlimited gravel" in the area around what is now Beloit fixed the site of the village and farms. White purchased the land. At the same time as the Colebrook settlers, six families from Bedford, New Hampshire, arrived and settled in the region. They said the Rock River Valley had a "New England look" that made them feel at home. The village was platted in 1838 and was planned with wide streets, building on the New England model. Gary Johnson (Wisconsin Politician)
Gary K. Johnson (September 14, 1939August 8, 2008) was an American educator and Democratic politician. He served 14 years in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing southern Rock County, and was majority leader from 1980 until 1985. After leaving the Assembly, he worked for a time as Assistant Superintendent in the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Early life and career Born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, he moved to Beloit, Wisconsin, with his family as a child. He graduated from Beloit Memorial High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Beloit College in 1963. Afterwards, he went back to Beloit Memorial High School as a social studies teacher. Through his work as an educator, he became involved in the Beloit Education Association, the local branch of the Wisconsin Education Association labor union, and would become president of the local organization. Barbara Lynn Ulichny (born June 10, 1947) is an American attorney, women's rights activist, and retired Democratic politician. She was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate for 8 years (1985–1993) after serving six years in the State Assembly, representing northeast Milwaukee County. Early life and career Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School and went on to Northwestern University in Chicago, where she earned her bachelor's degree in 1969. James Powers Moody (September 2, 1935March 22, 2019) was an American economist and Democratic politician. He served five terms as the U.S. representative for Wisconsin's 5th congressional district (1983–1993). At the time, the 5th congressional district comprised the north half of Milwaukee County, including much of the city of Milwaukee. Earlier in his career, he represented downtown Milwaukee in the Wisconsin State Senate and Assembly.
