Wisconsin's 73rd Assembly District
The 73rd Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in the northwest corner of Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Burnett County, as well as western and northern Douglas County and most of the northern half of Washburn County. It includes the city and village of Superior and the villages of Grantsburg, Lake Nebagamon, Minong, Poplar, Siren, and Webster. It also contains the University of Wisconsin–Superior campus, Amnicon Falls State Park, Pattison State Park, and much of the Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway. University Of Wisconsin–Superior
The University of Wisconsin–Superior (UW–Superior or UWS) is a public liberal arts university in Superior, Wisconsin. UW–Superior grants associate, bachelor's, master's and specialist's degrees. The university enrolls 2,559 undergraduates and 364 graduate students. History Originally named Superior Normal School, the university was founded by Wisconsin legislators as a school to train teachers in 1893. Superior Normal School's first class graduated in 1897. In 1909, the institution became Wisconsin's first normal school to offer a full-scale training program for the new idea of kindergarten. It also was the first to offer a four-year program for high school teachers beginning in 1923. After authorization to grant bachelor's degrees in education in 1926, the school took on the new name of Superior State Teachers College. Luxemburg is a town in Kewaunee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,469 at the 2010 census. The village of Luxemburg, a separate municipality, is surrounded by the town. The unincorporated communities of Walhain and Casco Junction are in the town, and Neuern, Frog Station, and Tonet are partially in the town. Geography Luxemburg is on the western side of Kewaunee County, bordered to the west by Brown County. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all of it land. The Los Angeles Railway (also known as Yellow Cars, LARy and later Los Angeles Transit Lines) was a system of streetcars that operated in Central Los Angeles and surrounding neighborhoods between 1895 and 1963. The 25th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in northwest Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Price, and Washburn counties, and part of northern Sawyer County.
