The Doncaster Mile, registered as the Doncaster Handicap is an Australian Turf Club Group One Thoroughbred handicap race for horses three years old and older, held over 1,600 metres at Royal Randwick Racecourse, Sydney, Australia. Although the race has traditionally been held on Easter Monday, the race is now run on the first day of the ATC Championships Carnival at Royal Randwick. Total prize money is A$3,000,000. The All Aged Stakes is an Australian Turf Club Group 1 Thoroughbred Weight for Age horse race, run over a distance of 1,400 metres at Randwick Racecourse, Sydney, Australia in April or May during the ATC Autumn Carnival. Lough Neagh (1928-1945) was an Australian chestnut Thoroughbred gelding, developed into an 'Iron Horse' of the Australian turf by Brisbane trainer and owner Tim Brosnan raced from a two-year-old to a ten-year-old winning on wet or dry tracks recording 32 wins from 5 furlongs to 2 miles with regular jockey's being Ted Tanwan and Fred Shean. Breeding Lough Neagh was bred by Bill Glasson of Manapouri Stud on the Darling Downs, Queensland by the unraced sire Bachelor's Persse (IRE) was purchased at the Brisbane yearling sales for 100 guineas and was imported as a yearling by Mr De Burgh Persse in 1914. Edgar Britt
Edgar Clive Britt OAM (30 October 1913 – 28 January 2017) was an Australian jockey, who won every British Classic Race except the Derby. Early life Career One of the first of many Australian jockeys who came to ride in Britain after World War II, he rode his first winner at Canterbury, in Sydney in 1930, before riding for the Maharajah of Baroda in India for a decade from 1935. Britt moved to Britain to ride for the Maharajah, when his horses were trained by Sam Armstrong, winning the Cesarewitch Handicap on Kerry Piper and the substitute Manchester November Handicap on Oatflake in his first season in England. He rode Princess Beautiful to win India's first Derby held in 1943. The Maharajah's Sayajirao provided his first classic winner in 1947 in the Irish Derby and St. Leger.
