Windsbach
Windsbach is a town in the district of Ansbach, in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated 20 km east of Ansbach, and 29 km southwest of Nuremberg. Geography Location Windsbach is located in the Rangau area on the river Franconian Rezat. The city's position is 20 km eastward of the district capital Ansbach and 40 km southwestern of Nuremberg. Beside the Franconian Rezat the Aurach, a tributary of the Rednitz flows through the community area. The following communities surround Windsbach (beginning north going clockwise direction): Rohr, Kammerstein, Abenberg, Spalt, Mitteleschenbach, Wolframs-Eschenbach, Lichtenau, Neuendettelsau and Heilsbronn. Karl-Friedrich Beringer
Hans Karl-Friedrich Beringer (born 7 January 1948, in Neuendettelsau) is a German choral and orchestral conductor, who was from 1978 to 2011 the conductor of the Windsbacher Knabenchor. Life Born in Neuendettelsau, Beringer studied at the Meistersinger Conservatory in Nuremberg. In 1970, still a student, he founded the Amadeus Choir and the Amadeus Orchestra. From 1976 to 1978 he was artistic director of the International Festival Youth Choir of Bayreuth. In 1978 he succeeded Hans Thamm as director of the boys' choir Windsbacher Knabenchor and led the ensemble to world fame. Beringer has worked together with renowned orchestras, especially with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Munich Radio Orchestra and the Münchener Kammerorchester. Windsbach Boys Choir
The Windsbacher Knabenchor (Windsbach Boys' Choir) is a German boys' choir in Windsbach, Germany, founded in 1946 and performing internationally. History The choir was founded in 1946 by Hans Thamm and was conducted by Karl-Friedrich Beringer from 1977 for decades. It is regarded as one of the most renowned boys choirs of the world. The choir is an institution of the Lutheran Church in Bavaria, which raises about 30 percent of the funds required to support both the ensemble and the singers boarding school. The choir received the Rheingau Musikpreis of the Rheingau Musik Festival in 2007. From 2011, has been artistic director of the choir. The Franconian Rezat (german: Fränkische Rezat) is a river in southern Germany. It is the western, left source river of the Rednitz. It rises in the Franconian Heights near Oberdachstetten. Neuendettelsau is a local authority in Middle Franconia, Germany. Neuendettelsau is situated 20 miles southwest of Nuremberg and 12 miles east of Ansbach. Aurach (Rednitz)
Aurach () is a river in the Bavarian ''Landkreise'' (districts) of Ansbach and Roth, Germany. The name means "river, where the Aurochs' graze" (Old High German ūr = Auerochs and aha = flowing water). The Aurach originates about west of Petersaurach, Middle Franconia at an altitude of above sea level. It flows almost eastward until it flows into the Rednitz. On its way, it passes the villages of Aich (Neuendettelsau, Bertholdsdorf (Windsbach) Veitsaurach (Windsbach), Barthelmesaurach (Kammerstein), Gauchsdorf (Büchenbach and Rothaurach (Roth). Ansbach (district)
Ansbach () is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in Bavaria, Germany. It surrounds – but does not include – the town of Ansbach; nonetheless the administrative seat of the district is located in Ansbach. It is the district with the largest area in Bavaria. History Some of the local towns already existed during the lifetime of Charlemagne, who visited Feuchtwangen about 800. In the 13th century the towns of Rothenburg, Dinkelsbühl and Feuchtwangen were elevated to Free Imperial cities; so they were directly subordinate to the Holy Roman Emperor. Free Voters (german: Freie Wähler, FW or FWG) in Germany may belong to an association of people which participates in an election without having the status of a registered political party. Usually it involves a locally organized group of voters in the form of a registered association (eV).
