Khomasdal
Khomasdal is a suburb of Namibia's capital of Windhoek in the Khomas Region. Founded as Windhoek's residential area for Coloured people, Khomasdal still is primarily composed of Coloured people. In October 2006, the City of Windhoek announced the construction of an informal market in Khomasdal. The market will give the Khomasdal community the opportunity to generate their own income and even create more jobs in the process. Since then the Market has been finished and is situated on the corner of Mahatma Gandhi and Hans-Dietrich Genscher streets in Khomasdal. A similar SME Market can also be found in Katutura. Windhoek (, , ) is the capital and largest city of Namibia. It is located in central Namibia in the Khomas Highland plateau area, at around above sea level, almost exactly at the country's geographical centre. The population of Windhoek in 2020 was 431,000 which is growing continually due to an influx from all over Namibia. Windhoek is the social, economic, political, and cultural centre of the country. Christine ǁHoebes
Christine ǁHoebes is a Namibian politician serving as Namibia's minister of presidential affairs since 21 March 2020. Early life and education ǁHoebes was born in Okombahe but grew up in Witvlei. She attended school in Witvlei, Gobabis and Windhoek, and then completed a Basic Education Teacher Diploma at the Windhoek College of Education in 2001. She pursues distance education degrees at the University of South Africa and the University of Namibia. Political career ǁHoebes entered politics at the age of 23 when she became councillor of Witvlei. She was elected chairperson of the village council and was at that time the youngest mayor in Namibia. ǁHoebes entered Cabinet of Namibia, cabinet in 2015 as deputy of the minister of presidential affairs. Elma Dienda
Elma Jane Dienda (born 16 November 1964 in Upington, Northern Cape, South Africa) is a Namibian politician and teacher. Currently a member Democratic Turnhalle Alliance which she joined four years after her resignation from the CoD, Dienda was a member of the National Assembly of Namibia from taking CoD's final spot in 2004 until CoD did not receive enough votes for her re-election in 2009. She is of South African and Malawian descent. Career Dienda is a teacher by profession, having earned an education diploma at the Windhoek College of Education and worked at Eldorado High School in Khomasdal. She also has a paralegal diploma from the Legal Assistance Centre. She received training as a counselor at Catholic AIDS Action. Michael Goreseb
Michael Bantu Goreseb (22 April 1955 - 8 August 2022). He was a Namibian politician. He was a member of the United Democratic Front, Goreseb and served as a member of the National Assembly of Namibia since the 2004 parliamentary election until his death in 2021. In the National Assembly, the Erongo Region native has been a member of the Standing Committee on Economics, Natural Resources and Public Administration, as well as the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Social and Community Development. Prior to entering national politics, Goreseb was mayor and town councillor of Usakos, Erongo from 1998 to 2003. Emma Tuahepa
Emma Touny Waundjua Tuhepha (born 11 December 1974) is a Namibian HIV/AIDS activist. In 1996, she was the first Namibian woman to state publicly that she was HIV-positive. She became a high-profile activist for HIV/AIDS awareness and her efforts paid off, as anti-retroviral drugs soon arrived to treat Namibians with HIV/AIDS. In 2001, she co-founded Lironga Eparu (learn to survive), a support group for those living with HIV which also participates in advocacy, awareness raising and policy development. Tuahepa is now the National Coordinator of the Organisation.
