Wim Van Sinderen
Wim van Sinderen (born 10 January 1958) is a Dutch journalist and curator, working as photography curator at the Fotomuseum Den Haag. Live and work Van Sinderen was born in Dokkum on January 10, 1958. From 1976 to 1982 he attended the Teacher Training College 'Ubbo Emmius' in Leeuwarden, where he received his BA in English language and literature and Fine Arts. In 1981 Van Sinderen came into prominence as spokesman of a young artist group, called ''Jonge Friezen.'' A year earlier they had started a new cultural magazine, called ''Het Bestaan'' (The Existence). He took part is several exhibitions in those days and published his first book. In 1982 Van Sinderen started his career as Photo Editor for the Amsterdam music magazine ''Vinyl''. He was curator at the Kunsthal from the start in April 1992, where he worked with the director Wim van Krimpen. Friso Keuris
Friso is a legendary king of the Frisians who is said to have ruled around 300 BC. According to Martinus Hamconius in his 17th-century chronicle ''Frisia seu de viris rebusque illustribus'', and also the 13th-century Oera Linda Book, Friso was a leader of a group of Frisian colonists who had been settled in the Punjab for well over a millennium when they were discovered by Alexander the Great. Taking service with Alexander, Friso and the colonists eventually found their way back to their ancestral homeland of Frisia, where Friso founded a dynasty of kings. Dokkum
Dokkum is a Dutch fortified city in the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân in the province of Friesland. It has 12,669 inhabitants (February 8, 2020). The fortifications of Dokkum are well preserved and are known as the ''bolwerken'' (bulwarks). It is the fifth most popular shopping city in Friesland. Fotomuseum Den Haag
The Fotomuseum Den Haag (The Hague Museum of Photography) is a museum in the field of photography in The Hague. The museum was founded in 2002 as part of the Kunstmuseum Den Haag and works closely with the Print Room of the Leiden University Library. Building The museum is located next to the Kunstmuseum The Hague in the Schamhart Wing (1961-1962) designed by the architects Sjoerd Schamhart and J.F. Heijligers. This exhibition wing was built as an extension of the Haags Gemeentemuseum. The Photo Museum was expanded from 400 to 1,000 square meters in 2016 at the expense of GEM for contemporary art museum, also located in the building. KM21
KM21 is a museum for contemporary visual art in The Hague in the Netherlands. The museum was established in 2002 as part of the Kunstmuseum Den Haag. In KM21 work by artists from The Hague, the Netherlands and international contemporaries can be admired at the same time. Kunsthal
The Kunsthal ( en, Art Hall) is an art museum in Rotterdam. It opened in 1992. Overview The museum is situated in the Museumpark of Rotterdam next to the Natuurhistorisch Museum Rotterdam, and in the vicinity of the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. Entrance to the Kunsthal is from the Westzeedijk. The building was designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas together with project architect Fuminori Hoshino of the architectural firm OMA ( Office for Metropolitan Architecture).
