Wilmot E. Fleming
Wilmot E. Fleming (December 20, 1916 – May 20, 1978) was an American politician from Pennsylvania who served as a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the Montgomery County district from 1963 to 1964 and the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 12th district from 1964 to 1978. Early life and education Fleming was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Wilmot and Lillie F. (Bains) Fleming. He graduated from Cheltenham Township High School and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Business career He worked in manufacturing as a partner in the Wilmot Fleming Engineering Company. Political career He served as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for Montgomery County from 1963 to 1964. He was elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 12th district in a special election and served from November 16, 1964 until his death in office due to a heart attack on May 20, 1978. Myocardial Infarction
A myocardial infarction (MI), commonly known as a heart attack, occurs when blood flow decreases or stops to the coronary artery of the heart, causing damage to the heart muscle. The most common symptom is chest pain or discomfort which may travel into the shoulder, arm, back, neck or jaw. Often it occurs in the center or left side of the chest and lasts for more than a few minutes. The discomfort may occasionally feel like heartburn. Other symptoms may include shortness of breath, nausea, feeling faint, a cold sweat or feeling tired. About 30% of people have atypical symptoms. Women more often present without chest pain and instead have neck pain, arm pain or feel tired. Among those over 75 years old, about 5% have had an MI with little or no history of symptoms. Laurel Hill Cemetery
Laurel Hill Cemetery is a historic rural cemetery in the East Falls neighborhood of Philadelphia. Founded in 1836, it was the second major rural cemetery in the United States after Mount Auburn Cemetery in Boston, Massachusetts. The cemetery is in size and overlooks the Schuylkill River. The cemetery grew to its current size through the purchase of four land parcels between 1836 and 1861.
