Bamberger's was a department store chain with branches primarily in New Jersey and other locations in Delaware, Maryland, New York, and Pennsylvania. The chain was headquartered in Newark, New Jersey. History 1892–1912 Newark was known for manufacturing in the last half of the 19th century. By 1892, Newark was the fourth largest American city and it manufactured products from leather to jewelry along with it being a rail hub. It also had a large Jewish population. Pompton River
The Pompton River is a tributary of the Passaic River, approximately long, in northern New Jersey in the United States. It is formed south of the borough of Pompton Lakes by the confluence of the Ramapo and Pequannock rivers. It flows south, passing between Lincoln Park and Pequannock Township (to the west) and Wayne (to the east). It enters the Passaic north of Fairfield. Charles Strum
Charles Laurence Strum (January 28, 1948 – April 27, 2021) was an American journalist and author. He worked as a senior editor at ''The New York Times'' from 1979 until his retirement in 2014. Early life Strum was born in Manhattan on January 28, 1948. His father, Emmanuel, worked as a lawyer; his mother, Dorothy (Doloboff), was a housewife.
