The Hon. William Warren Conolly, OBE, JP (5 December 1920 – 22 October 2008 caycompass.com) was a politician and attorney in the . He first entered the Cayman Government in 1944 as one of three elected members from the East End District. He traveled overseas from 1945 through 1948 in a personal capacity. Islay Leonie Conolly
Islay Conolly, MBE (8 May 1923 – 3 July 2022) was a Caymanian teacher and school administrator. Serving as a teacher and principal at various schools on the islands, she became Chief Education Officer in 1970. She was honored by the Caymanian government with the Spirit of Excellence Award during National Heroes Day and was first recipient of the Chamber of Commerce's Lifetime Achievement Award in Education. Conolly was honored as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 1982 New Year Honours. The Parliament of the Cayman Islands is the unicameral legislature of the British Overseas Territory of the Cayman Islands. Kenneth Blackburne
Sir Kenneth William Blackburne (12 December 1907 – 4 November 1980) was a British colonial official who was the first governor-general of Jamaica. He was knighted in 1952. Early life Blackburne was born on 12 December 1907 in Bordon Camp, Bordon, Hampshire, England, the first son of The Very Reverend Harry William Blackburne. He attended Marlborough College and graduated from Clare College at the University of Cambridge with a degree in Modern Languages and Geography. Career Blackburne entered the colonial service in 1930 and served in Nigeria, Palestine and the Gambia. He then served in the West Indies from 1943 to 1947 and subsequently as director of colonial information services in London from 1947 to 1950, before returning to the West Indies. It was the first successful political party in the Cayman Islands following on from the earlier attempted Cayman Vanguard Party formed by Conolly in 1958. Mr Ormond Panton became the first Caymanian to win an election as Party Leader. The party won the majority of the seats (7-5) in the 1964 elections but did not control the government as the UK administrator at the time, Mr. Jack Rose CMG, MBE had the power to appoint members and appointed members that opposed them. David Ritch, OBE, JP (born 1951) is a prominent Cayman Islands attorney who has done private and governmental work. Legal career David Ritch received his law degree from the University of the West Indies with honours, and was admitted to the bar in 1976 from the Inner Temple, Inns of Court, London, England; in England as Barrister-at-Law and Cayman Islands as Attorney-at-Law. He first worked at the Cayman Islands Courts Office and then moved into the private sector working at law firm Hunter & Hunter.
