William Murray, 2nd Earl Of Tullibardine
William Murray, 2nd Earl of Tullibardine (c. 1574–1626) was a Scottish landowner and courtier. He was the son of John Murray, 1st Earl of Tullibardine and Catherine Drummond, daughter of David, 2nd Lord Drummond. He travelled abroad in 1594 to learn languages, first going to London with James Drummond of Innerpeffray, and William Drummond, with a passport from the English ambassador Robert Bowes. According to the English diplomat George Nicholson, James VI he and James Drummond of Inchaffray were made servants in the king's chamber in August 1601 at Perth. At the Union of Crowns he came to London in 1603. William Jeremiah Murray (April 13, 1864 — March 25, 1937) was one of the most successful managers in American minor league baseball during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He also spent three seasons (1907–09) in Major League Baseball as manager of the Philadelphia Phillies of the National League. Biography A native of Peabody, Massachusetts, Murray began his minor league managing career at age 25 with the Quincy, Illinois, ''Ravens'' of the Central Interstate League in 1889. After winning back-to-back pennants at Quincy and Joliet of the Illinois–Iowa League in 1891–92, Murray spent nine seasons (1894–1902) as skipper of the Providence Grays of the top-level Eastern League (a forerunner of today's International League). William Murray (June 17, 1839 – July 15, 1898) was a businessman and political figure in Ontario, Canada. He represented Renfrew North in the House of Commons of Canada as a Liberal member from 1874 to 1875. He was born in Goulbourn Township in 1839, the son of James Murray, an Irish immigrant, and Elizabeth Burrows, and was educated in Goulbourn Township. He entered business with his older brother Thomas in Pembroke. In 1864, he married Margaret Mary Foran. He was declared elected in 1874 after Peter White's election was appealed. William Archibald Murray (1832 – 26 June 1900) was a 19th-century Member of Parliament in Otago, New Zealand. During his time in parliament, he moved to the Waikato. Biography Brothers William, John (died 1896), and James Murray (died 1899) arrived in Dunedin, New Zealand from Scotland aboard the ''Nourmahal'' on 16 April 1858. William Murray (October 1, 1803 – August 25, 1875) was an American banker and politician who served two terms as a United States representative from New York from 1851 to 1855. William Murray (February 13, 1857 – March 27, 1913) was a lawyer and political figure in New Brunswick, Canada. He represented Restigouche County in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1885 to 1892 as a Liberal-Conservative. He was born in Cambellton, Colony of New Brunswick. William Thomas Murray (9 April 1890 – 23 October 1980) was an Australian politician. He was born at Lilyfield to power station engineer Michael Murray and Mary Ryan. He was educated by the Marist Brothers and at Fort Street High School, becoming a railway officer. A Labor Party member from 1922, he was involved in the Railway and Tramway Officers' Association, which became the Australasian Transport Officers' Association. William Murray (17 April 1882 – 12 November 1977) was an Australian athlete who competed in the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm, Sweden. Murray joined the Melbourne Harriers when he was a young man and started off in long distance running events, he is credited as winning the first ever marathon run in Melbourne in 1910. He took up racewalking when asked to enter a race due to a poor field in which he went on to win, over the next two weeks he won two more events and even beat the current Australian record holder.
