William Murray (Australian Politician)
William Thomas Murray (9 April 1890 – 23 October 1980) was an Australian politician. He was born at Lilyfield to power station engineer Michael Murray and Mary Ryan. He was educated by the Marist Brothers and at Fort Street High School, becoming a railway officer. A Labor Party member from 1922, he was involved in the Railway and Tramway Officers' Association, which became the Australasian Transport Officers' Association. On 7 October 1924 he married May Boyle, with whom he had three daughters. Lilyfield, New South Wales
Lilyfield is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Lilyfield is located 6 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Inner West Council. Lilyfield is nestled in between the suburbs of Annandale, Rozelle and Leichhardt and is bounded to the west by Iron Cove. Originally a working-class area, today Lilyfield like many inner-city suburbs is becoming increasingly gentrified. Norm Ryan
Phillip Norman Ryan (24 May 1910 – 25 March 1997) was an Australian politician, affiliated with the Labor Party. He was elected as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly and served as Minister for Public Works from 1959–1965. Early life He was born at Moruya, on the south coast of New South Wales to Michael and Elizabeth Ryan. After attending St. Joseph's College, Hunters Hill and the Sydney Technical College, he was an apprentice electrical fitter for the Sydney County Council. He later worked as an electrical inspector for the Public Works Department. On 12 April 1941, he married Dorothy O'Brien, with whom he had one son and one daughter. Donald Vincent Cochrane (17 February 1904 – 29 January 1985) was an Australian politician. Born in Charters Towers to engine driver Robert Henry Cochrane and Levinia Mary Yeo, the family moved to Sydney in 1908. Cochrane was educated at Marrickville and worked at his father's returned serviceman's block in Tarcutta. In 1920 he joined the Labor Party. He worked in New South Wales and Queensland until the Depression, and was later in the battery-manufacturing business.
