William Bullock Ives
William Bullock Ives, PC, QC (November 17, 1841 – July 15, 1899) was a Canadian politician, who served in the House of Commons of Canada from 1878 to 1899. A member of the Conservative Party of Canada, he represented the electoral districts of Richmond—Wolfe from 1878 to 1891 and Sherbrooke from 1891 to 1899, and served as the President of the Privy Council and Minister of Trade and Commerce. William Carlos Ives
William Carlos Ives (October 30, 1873 – July 10, 1950) was a Canadian provincial politician and provincial Supreme Court Justice. Early life William Carlos Ives was born in Compton, Quebec on October 30, 1873. His family moved to the Alberta District in the North-West Territories shortly after he was born, to ranch near Pincher Creek in 1881. Ives' father George would be one of the original members of the North-West Mounted Police in 1879. When he reached his teenage years he left home to work his first job as a cowhand. He left the territories to attend McGill University and graduated in 1899 with a Bachelor of Laws. Ives became a lawyer in Montreal shortly after graduating, being called to the bar in 1900, and worked in the city for two years before moving back to Alberta. Bill Ives (rugby League)
Bill Ives (1896-1975) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s. Playing career Ives played for the Glebe in 1920, Eastern Suburbs between 1921-1927 and the St. George Dragons 1928 in the New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership in Australia. His usual position was at prop-forward. He won one premiership with Eastern Suburbs in 1923. He captained the club on many occasions. He was the younger brother of Australian test player Clarrie Ives. He also played first-class cricket for New South Wales as a right-handed lower-order batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler, appearing in seven matches between 1919–20 and 1921–22. Grayston ‘Bill’ Ives (born 1948) is a British composer, singer and choral director. Until March 2009, Ives was Organist, ''Informator Choristarum'' and Fellow and Tutor in Music at Magdalen College, Oxford. In this role he was responsible for the daily musical life of the college chapel. He also directed the choir in recordings on the Harmonia Mundi label: ''With a Merrie Noyse'', made with the viol consort Fretwork and featuring the works of the English composer Orlando Gibbons, was nominated for a Grammy in 2004. Paul McCartney's ''Ecce Cor Meum'' was written especially for Magdalen College Choir and the subsequent EMI recording won the Classical BRIT Award for Album of the Year in 2007.
