William Edmond Robinson
William Edmond Robinson (June 1, 1920 – October 16, 1992) was an American politician and banking executive from the state of Missouri. A Democrat, he served one term as Missouri State Treasurer from 1969 to 1973. Early life Robinson was born in St. Francois County, Missouri on June 1, 1920. He grew up around Bonne Terre, Missouri and received his public education there. Following high school, Robinson attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri. He married Janet Naomi Parham of St. Louis in 1942. Later he married Angie LeClair. Working life and politics Prior to being elected Missouri State Treasurer in November 1968 Robinson in the banking and insurance fields. He served as managing officer and secretary-treasurer of Bonne Terre Savings and Loan Association, as well as chairman of the board of the Missouri Savings and Loan League. Fayette is a city in and the county seat of Howard County, Missouri, United States. It is part of the Columbia, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city's population was 2,803 at the 2020 census. History Fayette was laid out in 1823. The community was named after Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette. Jefferson City, informally Jeff City, is the capital of Missouri, United States. It had a population of 43,228 at the 2020 census, ranking as the 15th most populous city in the state. Bonne Terre, Missouri
Bonne Terre ( ) is a city in St. Francois County, Missouri, United States with a population of 6,864 at the 2010 census. Situated in the Southeast Missouri Lead District, lead mining shaped the history and character of the area from the earliest French settlers in the 1720´s until today, even though Bonne Terre Mine established by St. Joseph lead mining company in 1864 closed in 1962. Mine tailing piles eroded, and contaminated the area as dust, posing residential hazards or were washed into the Big River. Only in 1992, the Bonne Terre Mine Tailings Site was listed as a Superfund Site; as of 2022 remediation is still ongoing. The Bonne Terre Depot from 1909, the St. Joe Lead Company Administration Building and the Bonne Terre Mine, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A warren is a network of wild rodent or lagomorph, typically rabbit burrows.
