William Carroll (Tennessee Politician)
William Carroll (March 3, 1788March 22, 1844) was an American politician who served as the fifth Governor of Tennessee twice, from 1821 to 1827 and again from 1829 to 1835. He held the office longer than any other person, including the state's only other six-term governor, John Sevier. William Carroll (Australian Politician)
William Carroll (3 January 1872 – 30 May 1936) was an Australian politician. Born in Garvoc, Victoria, Garvoc, Victoria (Australia), Victoria, he was educated at Horsham, Victoria, Horsham before moving to Western Australia during the gold rush to become a miner, and subsequently became a farmer at Tammin, Western Australia, Tammin. He was General Secretary of the Western Australian Primary Producers' Association, and was a member of the Western Australian Legislative Council from 1923 to 1924. In 1925, he was elected to the Australian Senate as a National Party of Australia, Country Party Senator for Western Australia. William Henry Carroll
William Henry Carroll (1810 – May 3, 1868) was a wealthy planter, a postmaster, and a brigadier general in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Early life Carroll was born in Nashville, Tennessee to William Carroll, a general during the War of 1812 and multi-term Governor of Tennessee, and Cecilia M. (Bradford) Carroll. Prior to the Civil War, he commanded the 154th Regiment of the Tennessee Militia. Civil War service On December 11, 1861, Carroll, as the Confederate commander at Knoxville, issued a proclamation declaring martial law in the city. He then arrested all those who were openly opposed to the Confederate States before restoring the civil authority. He commanded the 2nd Brigade in the District of East Tennessee, commanded by George B. Crittenden, that engaged George H. John Wayne Gacy (March 17, 1942 – May 10, 1994) was an American serial killer and sex offender who raped, tortured, and murdered at least 33 young men and boys. Gacy regularly performed at children's hospitals and charitable events as "Pogo the Clown" or "Patches the Clown", personas he had devised. He became known as the Killer Clown due to his public services as a clown prior to the discovery of his crimes. Gacy committed all of his murders inside his ranch-style house near Norridge, a village in Norwood Park Township in suburban Chicago. Typically, he would lure a victim to his home and dupe him into donning handcuffs on the pretext of demonstrating a magic trick. He would then rape and torture his captive before killing him by either asphyxiation or strangulation with a garrote. Will Carroll (born 1970) is an American sportswriter who specializes in the coverage of medical issues, including injuries and performance-enhancing drugs. Bill Carroll is a Canadian radio personality who has hosted talk radio shows in both Canada and the United States. He has been the host of The Morning Rush with Bill Carroll on CFRA in Ottawa since March 7, 2016. Biography Carroll was born in Scotland on July 29, 1959 and grew up in Coatbridge near Glasgow. He came with his family to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the late 1960s.
