The Ghana Army (GA) is the main ground warfare organizational military branch of the Ghanaian Armed Forces (GAF). Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ( ; born 29 March 1944) is a Ghanaian politician who has served as the president of Ghana since 7 January 2017. In 2020, he was re-elected for his second term, which will end on 6 January 2025. Lieutenant General Obed Boamah Akwa (born 20 June 1955) is a retired Ghanaian military officer who served as the Chief of the Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces from February 2017 to February 2021.
