Willi Voss
Willi Voss (born on 9 May 1934 as Willi Pohl) and sometimes writing under the pseudonym E. W. Pless, is a German writer. In the 1970s he was known as a neo-Nazi and as a PLO member, a procurer of weapons for Palestinian terrorist attacks. He was involved in the Munich Massacre. After defecting from the PLO, he became an informant for the CIA and returned later to Germany. Before becoming a writer, he worked as a laborer, librarian, and journalist. Biography Willi Pohl grew up in the Ruhr region. In the 1970s, he was a member of the German neo-Nazi scene, with ties to the criminal milieu and to Palestinian . The contact had been established by the neo-Nazi Udo Albrecht, with whom Pohl was friends for several years. As a PLO member, he organized weapons for Palestinian terrorist commandos in Germany. Neo-Nazism comprises the post–World War II militant, social, and political movements that seek to revive and reinstate Nazism, Nazi ideology. Neo-Nazis employ their ideology to promote hatred and Supremacism#Racial, racial supremacy (often white supremacy), attack racial and ethnic minorities (often antisemitism and Islamophobia), and in some cases to create a fascist state. The Deutscher Krimi Preis, or the ''German Crime Fiction Award'', is the oldest and most prestigious German literary prize for crime fiction. It has been awarded since 1985 by the Bochum Crime Archive. Unlike the Friedrich Glauser Prize, which is awarded by the authors' group ''The Syndicate'', the judges are literary scholars, critics and booksellers. By their own definition, they appreciate the ''literary skill and original content that give the genre a new impetus.'' The best new releases of German crime fiction are awarded prizes numbered 1 through 3. In a second category, there are also three awards for newly translated works by international authors. ''ScreenPlay'' is a television drama anthology series broadcast on BBC2 between 9 July 1986 and 27 October 1993. Background After single-play anthology series went off the air, the BBC introduced several showcases for made-for-television, feature length filmed dramas, including ''ScreenPlay''. Various writers and directors were utilized on the series. Writer Jimmy McGovern was hired by producer George Faber to pen a series five episode based upon the Merseyside needle exchange programme of the 1980s.
