Willamette Writers is a 501-c-3 nonprofit writing group based in the U.S. state of Oregon, with nearly 1,600 members, and chapters in Portland, Eugene, Salem, Corvallis, Central Point, and Newport. A 501(c) organization is a nonprofit organization in the Law of the United States#Federal law, federal law of the United States according to Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 501(c)) and is one of over 29 types of nonprofit organizations exempt from some Taxation in the United States, federal Income tax in the United States, income taxes. Newport, Oregon
Newport is a city in Lincoln County, Oregon, United States. It was incorporated in 1882, though the name dates back to the establishment of a post office in 1868. Newport was named for Newport, Rhode Island. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 9,989, an increase of nearly 5% over its 2000 population; as of 2019, it had an estimated population of 10,853. West Linn is a city in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. The Authors Road
The Authors Road is a non-commercial archive and documentary research project that explores the art of writing through interviews with American authors and experts. Their goal is to provide a repository or library of multi-media information about American writers in a way that honors writers and their craft, shares insights into the art of writing, and introduces the people behind the stories that are the basis to books, movies, plays, newspapers, magazines and poetry journals. This ongoing archive can be used by schools, universities, writers, researchers, and of course readers who wish to learn more about their favorite writer. Michael Henderson (author)
Michael Henderson (born 15 March 1932) was an English journalist and the author of 14 books. ''No Enemy To Conquer – Forgiveness in An Unforgiving World'' (2009) had a foreword by the Dalai Lama. The former BBC war correspondent Martin Bell described the book as "a thoughtful guidebook to the troubled times we live in". Henderson's books on forgiveness are regularly used in academic courses on conflict resolution. He lived in Westward Ho! in North Devon, England, and Taunton, Somerset, from 2018.
