Wilfried Krätzschmar
Wilfried Krätzschmar (born 23 March 1944) is a German composer. Life Born in Dresden, Krätzschmar received piano lessons from 1952. After his Abitur at the he studied composition with Johannes Paul Thilman from 1962 to 1968, piano with Wolfgang Plehn and conducting with Klaus Zoephel at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden. In 1963 he conducted a trombone choir in Dresden. From 1968 to 1969 he took over the direction of incidental music at Theater Meiningen. After this time he returned to the Dresden Academy of Music as an aspirant of Fritz Geißler. In 1975 he took over artistically the Centre for the Promotion of Young Composers of the District of Dresden. In 1988 he was appointed extraordinary professor in Dresden. Composer
A composer is a person who writes music. The term is especially used to indicate composers of Western classical music, or those who are composers by occupation. Many composers are, or were, also skilled performers of music. Etymology and Definition The term is descended from Latin, ''compōnō''; literally "one who puts together". Alexander Keuk (born 13 October 1971) is a German composer and music journalist. Life Born in Wuppertal, Keuk completed an apprenticeship as a retail salesman from 1990 to 1992 after his Abitur. From 1993 to 1999 he studied musical composition with Hans Jürgen Wenzel at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber. He graduated with a thesis on ''The 7 Sonatas for 2 Violins'' by Allan Pettersson, followed by a postgraduate education. Matthias Herrmann (born 14 October 1955) is a German musicologist and university professor. Life Born in Mildenau, Herrmann became a member of the Dresdner Kreuzchor conducted by Kreuzkantor Rudolf Mauersberger, later Martin Flämig. Hanns-Werner Heister (born 14 June 1946) is a German musicologist. Life and career Born in Plochingen, (Baden-Württemberg), Heister studied musicology, German literature and linguistics in Tübingen, Frankfurt a. M. and Berlin, received his doctorate in 1977 in Berlin on the aesthetics, sociology and history of the institution of the concert and habilitated in 1993 at the University of Oldenburg with studies on music analysis. From 1971 to 1992 he worked as a freelance music journalist for various radio stations, newspapers and magazines. Jörn Peter Hiekel (born 1963) is a German musicologist. Life Born in Göttingen, Hiekel first studied musicology, art history and history at the universities of Cologne and Bonn before he completed his double bass studies at the Musikhochschule Köln. Afterwards he received his doctorate at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. The ''Komponisten der Gegenwart'' (KDG) is a music encyclopedia in German language about composers of the 20th and 21st century. It is a looseleaf service with information on currently about 900 composers. Editors Hanns-Werner Heister and Walter-Wolfgang Sparrer founded the encyclopaedia ''Komponisten der Gegenwart (KDG)'' in 1992 and since then publish it in the publishing house . Sylke Zimpel (born 10 September 1959) is a German composer, choral conductor and lecturer. Life Born in Dresden, Zimpel studied at the Cottbus conservatory from 1971 to 1978. She then studied composition at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden with Karl-Rudi Griesbach and Wilfried Krätzschmar until 1983. Christian Münch
Christian Münch (born 11 April 1951) is a German composer, organist, pianist and conductor. Life Münch was born in Freiberg in 1951 in a cantor's family. With his father he learned trumpet and organ. Since his childhood he received piano and clarinet lessons at the music school in Freiberg. From 1971 to 1976 he studied musical composition with Manfred Weiss and Wilfried Krätzschmar, conducting with Rudolf Neuhaus and piano with Günter Händel at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber.
