Wilfred Breistrand
Wilfred Breistrand (April 29, 1921 – August 3, 2007) was a Norwegians, Norwegian actor and film director. Biography Breistrand made his debut in 1941 at the Trøndelag Teater, Trøndelag Theater as Amund in ''Til Sæters'' by Claus Pavels Riis. He performed there until 1944, at the Oslo Nye Teater, New Theater from 1944 to 1948, at the National Theatre (Oslo), National Theatre in Oslo from 1948 to 1970, with NRK's Fjernsynsteatret, Television Theater from 1970 to 1973, and with the Det Norske Teatret, Norwegian theater after 1973. Trondheim ( , , ; sma, Tråante), historically Kaupangen, Nidaros and Trondhjem (), is a city and municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. ''Sønner av Norge'' (Sons of Norway) is a Norwegian comedy film from 1961 directed by Øyvind Vennerød. The script was written by Jørn Ording and Vennerød. Among others, Inger Marie Andersen, Odd Borg, Turid Balke, Arne Bang-Hansen, and Willie Hoel appear in the roles of the residents of Solbråten. The film was followed by the sequel '' Sønner av Norge kjøper bil''. Hans Nielsen Hauge (1961 Film)
Hans Nielsen Hauge (3 April 1771 – 29 March 1824) was a 19th-century Norwegian Lutheran lay minister, spiritual leader, business entrepreneur, social reformer and author. He led a noted Pietism revival known as the Haugean movement. Hauge is also considered to have been influential in the early industrialization of Norway. Biography Hans Nielsen Hauge was born the fifth of ten children in his ancestral farm of Hauge at Rolvsøy (''Hauge på Rolvsøy'') in the county of Østfold. His father was Niels Mikkelsen Evenrød (1732–1813) and mother Maria Olsdatter Hauge (1735–1811). ''Den fjerde nattevakt'' (The Fourth Night Watch) is a novel by the Norwegian writer Johan Falkberget published in 1923. The work was the author's breakthrough novel, is considered one of his main works, and is part of several selections of Norway's literary canon. The plot is set in Røros in the years from 1807 onward. The main characters are the priest Benjamin Sigismund, his wife Katrine, the sexton Ol-Kanelesa (Ole Korneliussen), the miner's wife Gunhild Bonde, and her husband David Finne. Benjamin arrives at Bergstaden at the beginning of the novel and quickly establishes himself as a popular priest. The sexton, fiddler, and blacksmith Ol-Kanelesa becomes his mentor. Kjell Askildsen
Kjell Askildsen (30 September 1929 – 23 September 2021) was a Norwegian writer probably best known for his minimalistic short stories. Personal life Askildsen was born in Mandal as a son of bailiff and politician Arne Askildsen (1898–1982) and Aasta Håverstad (1898–1978). Before the Second World War his father was the bailiff of Mandal and Halse og Harkmark from 1928, a board member of the Norwegian Lutheran Mission since 1939, and also a member of the school board and city council. During the war and occupation of Norway, his father was imprisoned in Arkivet twice, before escaping to Sweden in 1944. Two older brothers of Kjell Askildsen were held captive in Grini concentration camp. After the war, Askildsen enrolled in the Independent Norwegian Brigade Group in Germany. He was married to a German woman for some time. From August 1951 to March 1968 he was married to Edith Dorothea Mathiessen, and from June 1992 he was married to Gina Giertsen.
