Wildstrubel West
The Wildstrubel () is a mountain of the Alps, straddling the border between the Swiss cantons of Bern and Valais. It forms a large glaciated massif, about 15 km wide, extending between the Rawil Pass and the Gemmi Pass. Along with the Muverans, the Diablerets and the Wildhorn, the Wildstrubel is one of the four distinct mountain massifs of the Bernese Alps that lie west of the Gemmi Pass. The massif of the Wildstrubel is at the centre between the valleys of Simmental (BE), Engstligental (BE) and the Rhone (VS), the exact location of the tripoint being the summit of the Schneehorn. It comprises several distinct summits, including (from west to east) the Wetzsteinhorn, the Rohrbachstein, the Weisshorn, the Pointe de la Plaine Morte, Mont Bonvin, the Trubelstock and the Schneehorn. Simmental
The Simmental ( en, Simme Valley) is an Swiss Alps, alpine valley in the Bernese Oberland of Switzerland. It expands from Lenk to Boltigen, in a more or less south-north direction (Obersimmental (district), Obersimmental), and from there to the valley exit at Wimmis near Spiez it takes a west-east orientation (Niedersimmental (district), Niedersimmental). It comprises the municipalities of Lenk, St. Stephan, Switzerland, St. Stephan, Zweisimmen, Boltigen, Oberwil im Simmental, Oberwil, Därstetten, Erlenbach im Simmental, Erlenbach, Diemtigen and Wimmis. Grand Muveran
The Grand Muveran is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Vaud and Valais. At 3,051 metres, it is the highest summit of the group lying between the Rhone knee and the Pas de Cheville and the westernmost three-thousander of the Bernese Alps. The closest localities are Les Plans-sur-Bex (municipality of Bex, Vaud) and Ovronnaz (Valais). It is accompanied by the smaller peak of Petit Muveran. Daubenhorn
The Daubenhorn is a mountain in the Bernese Alps, located above the town of Leukerbad, Switzerland. The mountain has the longest via ferrata, or secured climbing route, in Switzerland. The route is built into the mountain's southeastern face and continues to the summit. This via ferrata is considered to be extremely difficult (ED) and requires very good fitness to make the 6 hour climb to the summit from the base of the Via Ferrata at 2350 m. Steghorn
The Steghorn is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Bern and Valais. It lies between the Engstligenalp (Bernese Oberland and the Gemmi Pass (Valais). The Steghorn belongs to the massif of the Wildstrubel. The easiest ascent can be made from the ''"Lämmeren"'' hut in the canton of Valais via the Steghorn glacier or the ''Leiterli'' rocks. The Pointe de la Plaine Morte () is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Bern and Valais. It overlooks the large and flat glacier named ''Plaine Morte Glacier'', from the south-west side. The Weisshorn (or ''Wisshore'') is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Bern and Valais. It lies on the main chain of the Bernese Alps, between the Rawil Pass and the Plaine Morte Glacier. A cable car (not accessible to public) connects the summit from Iffigenalp, south of Lenk in the canton of Bern.
