Wiesberg House
Wilhelm Wiesberg (13 September 1850 – 25 August 1896), real name Wilhelm Bergamenter, was an Austrian writer and folksinger. Life Born in Vienna, Wiesberg acted in children's comedies at the Vienna Theater in der Josefstadt and was an employee of the magazines ''Figaro'', ''Kikeriki'', '' Zeitgeist'' and ''Der Floh''. After he lost his job, he became a folk singer. Wiesberg wrote 72 Posse mit Gesang, 30 solo scenes and more than 1000 songs. He often worked together with Johann Sioly and Wilhelm Seidl. Wiesberg died in Vienna at age 45. His grave is located at the Dornbacher Friedhof in Vienna (Gruppe 3, Nummer 12). The Wienerlied (German, literally: Viennese song, pl. Wienerlieder) or Weanaliad (Viennese German, viennese, pl. ''Weanaliada'') is a song genre which has its roots in Vienna, the capital of Austria. Traditional Viennese songs, known as ''Wienerlieder'' are centred on the theme of life in Vienna and are almost exclusively sung in Viennese German, Viennese (a local Bavarian language, Austro-Bavarian dialect). The Wienerlied is a unique musical and socio-cultural phenomenon, a psychograph of the Viennese way of life; a mix between idealism, joie de vivre and desperation. Constantin Von Wurzbach
Constantin Wurzbach Ritter von Tannenberg (11 April 1818 – 17 August 1893) was an Austrian biographer, lexicographer and author. Biography He was born in Laibach, Carniola (present-day Ljubljana, Slovenia).He later went on to complete a course in philosophy and published poetry in local periodicals, inspired by the work of Nikolaus Lenau and Anastasius Grün. At the request of his father, he began studying jurisprudence at Graz, which he, however, abandoned after two years. Instead, he joined the Austrian army and served in a Galician infantry regiment at Cracow from 1837. As a cadet, he continued to publish poems under the pseudonym ''W. Constant''. In 1841 he was promoted to the rank of second lieutenant (''Unterleutnant'') and transferred to Lemberg (Lviv). At the same time, he studied philosophy at the Lemberg University and in 1843 became the first active officer in the Austrian army to obtain a doctorate. The Theater in der Josefstadt is a theater in Vienna in the eighth district of Josefstadt. It was founded in 1788 and is the oldest still performing theater in Vienna. It is often referred to colloquially as simply ''Die Josefstadt''.
